No sh!t. I already own both. But I wanted the ME:Collection. Who knows maybe w/ ME3 they`ll do it. It would work so perfectly having all of them on 1 disc.

il-mouzer5752d ago

not really since ME1 is owned by Microsoft

Jaces5752d ago

Just go the Ninja Gaiden route and call it Mass Effect: Sigma...or at least somewhere along those lines. =P

Oldsnake0075752d ago

dude you will never get it, Microsoft themselves confirmed that they have the right on ME1

DigitalRaptor5752d ago (Edited 5752d ago )

I don't understand. Microsoft do not own the rights to the franchise. They published the Xbox 360 version, but EA published the PC port. I don't see how MS has any say in the matter, if Bioware want to develop it for PS3.

Independent_Charles5752d ago

statement released by microsoft confirmed mass 1 isnot coming to ps3. its in the documentation that mass 1 is xbox 360 only(console terms here).

Kingdom Come5752d ago

They aren't going to give PS3 Gamers 1 because:
- They would already have played the next installment...
- Can't carry Second installment decisions over to one...
- Microsoft Publishing rights...

0mega45752d ago

the game is still allowed to be published just like how its on steam

as microsfoft and bioware share publishing rights

it just would really piss of microsoft.
and enter them in to a legal battle over compensation for sales and such

BubbleSystemSuck5752d ago

that means you can play it on PC too...

GWAVE5752d ago

What about Mass Effect indeed? It has a great storyline.

Whatev. ME2 on PS3 = megaton.

Kingdom Come5752d ago

= The same as the 360 Version but on one disc and minus the defining aspect of the game, being able to carry character/decisions over from the first game.

Darkfiber5752d ago (Edited 5752d ago )

What the hell is this megaton shit, god damn kids and your stupid fucking internet memes, so fucking annoying.

iamgoatman5752d ago

I'm with you on that one.

TheTeam065752d ago

Mass Effect 2 for PS3 bundled with Mass Effect: The Opening. Totally not the same thing. hahaha.

big_silky5752d ago (Edited 5752d ago )

I love Mass Effect and frankly already having "your" Shepard as a defined character is what made ME2 so appealing. I played ME2 first and it made me go play the first one because I wanted to lead my character through the series, I felt like I was missing out not playing it.

IMO some of the possible outcomes, and even the opening chapter, in ME2 lose alot of their impact if you don't have that time and emotional investment from the first game.

blu_yu_away5752d ago

Very true, the first really isn't necessary to enjoy the sequel but does add to the experience. But this is still great news for PS3 owners looking to play Mass Effect 2. Too bad the first isn't being brought over as well. I would have given some consideration to re buying the two together on my PS3.

Mass Effect - N7 DAY 2025

Bioware writes: "Like you, we’ve heard the rumors lately. You’ve made it clear you care deeply about what’s next. So let’s start by setting the record straight: the next Mass Effect game is in development, and EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe."

I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed

Like with Fallout, it's starting to feel studios are using TV / Film adaptations when they have no game info to talk about.

toxic-inferno191d ago

I feel the same way.

I mean, how difficult would it be for them to release SOMETHING of substance? Another short trailer? A couple of proper hints? A short story set during the original trilogy, but focused on fringe characters?

Hopefully they're working so hard on the game that they don't have time. But still, with every passing year and so little to show, the franchise will be slipping further and further from people's minds.

Profchaos191d ago

Yeah agree it's almost a cop out since Dev times are 5 to 10 years just throw out a few seasons instead you get them done in a year

jznrpg191d ago

I still haven’t beat Andromeda. I am waiting for a lull of good games in my backlog

P_Bomb191d ago

So the TV show will take place after the OG trilogy. I wonder which ending they’ll use?

Rebel_Scum191d ago

Should’ve just posted a picture of an Elcor saying “regretfully, we have nothing to share.”

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast524d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine524d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast524d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman524d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast524d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave772d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan772d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave772d ago (Edited 772d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
