ps3 will dominate it just need games Vista is doomed is not that much diferent from XP

We can't use XP forever so one day every PC owner will use Vista. But right now is not that time.

Every time M$ releases a new version of Windows, it is always met with articles like this & ppl don't want to buy a new O.S. - Me included. Then, 2 years later, that very same O.S. is dominating the PC World. Say what you want about Linux or Apple, but M$'s software has always dominated them.

PC Gaming = No matter what you build, it out dated in 6 months. Too expensive for me to care with next gen consoles on my big screen & my a$$ on the couch.

I have it on my new xps and I like it. On my older desktop, I don't like it that much, it needs more juice. So I boot desktop to xp.
If you have good hardware vista is nice (if you invest 2 hours into learning new features)
I hope that ps3 catches up to xbox360 by next holiday, that will result in some great games on both.

Price is out of casual range.

Even though the price is not that big a deal, there are phone that are 600 bucks, pants, shirts and handbags that are well over thousands, but whatever. People are dumb.

If people are going say Sony is in a bad position then at least show with some facts. It's not like Xbox is outselling the PS3 since November of last year. 360 came out a year before the competetion lets not forget that. Since Wii and PS3 launch, the 360 has seen a great decrease in it's sales.

The reality is both Sony and Microsoft are suffering at the hands of Nintendo who is outselling both at rates of 5 to 1 (360) and 2 to 1 (PS3)in 2007.

Vista is lacking because the desktop is no longer the focal point of computers anymore in this Web 2.0 content driven youtube/myspace world. Microsoft will see the same results from now with "Vienna" because the market has shifted toward other features that Windows simply cannot provide at this time. Live anywhere is good initiative but it lacks genuine innovation to become hit with the mainstream. Google has been eating up the market once held by Microsoft and that is why they are suffering.

Considering the XBox 360 is the one that is truly a piece of junk since it always breaks and of course doesnt even have good games at all right now, this year is almost over and again when Halo 3 comes out and sells a million XBox 360 thats still not going to be enough to actually make a distance from the PS3 considering not Gears of War 2 not BioShock is going to make a difference!.

And I guess Xbox 360 since PS3 is killing it in sales nowadays. Vista will hopefully be the end of Windows.

Halo 2 is little more then a worthless piece of crap the only difference is bungie found a way to put it onto a disc. First of all I dont know how something with poor graphics, a short abysmal storyline and an unoriginal multiplayer made it onto shleves. Then for a game of this poor quality to be the most played game in who knows how long is nothing more then an utter joke. Then again the majority of halo players are 40 year olds that live in there parents basement and have never seen the light of day. I could go on for hours if I wanted to tell you better games then halo gears of war, resident evil 4... then once u finish halo's single player should take about 15 minutes you sit there and think didnt I play this **** in 2002 with the original halo. So all I have to say to the pathetically large group of Halo fans is go and come out of your basements and camp in tents for the release of the third installement in what truly has been a ****ty series. Thank God it's almost over!

I Use Windows Vista Home Premium edition, It came pre-loaded on my new PC I Bought earlier this year, My Intel Dual core 2.

At First I Must admit, Vista sucked"but it is very fast", Then There has been a few updates since, It runs smooth now, though every so often Something unexpected may happen with Vista, Like suddenly my ad-aware program stopped working"It's not 100% Vista compatible", So I Had to download a different program.

Over all I Think Vista is doing good, I Think PS3 is doing good to for not having many games out, most Likely It's because people are buying it for it's Blu-ray drive, and knowing that it plays PS2 Games on top of that, Over all It's not a bad price tag Like some people suggested.

I like Vista so far. I don't have it personally but I've used it. I hear that one of the worst things about Vista is driver incompatibility because it's so new. I don't think that I will try to upgrade my computer to Vista, I will just wait until I buy a new computer with Vista pre-installed. I think that's the way to go.

Yeah, I Suggest just buy a PC with Vista on it, also Keep in mind that Vista takes 1GB of memory to even run.

Vista is an Operating System, while Playstation 3 would be what it operates (a computer). Not to say that Vista's in there, but a Sony proprietary OS, whatever it's called. On a sidenote, even Vaios use Windows, so they have to pay for the licensing on all those OEM's. The world is like that: companies can be interdependent and still be rivals.

Me? I just bought a brand new HP Pavilion dv9535nr from Best Buy, ran me $1500, and I finally stepped up to Vista, all the while happily gliding along through the dreamy clouds of that "new toy" feelin'.

And I've got its Mecia Center rigged to my Xbox 360's Media Center Extender and I'm enjoying the TV tuner they included in the box to use it for watching TV on my 360, as well as the already sweet deal of being able to stream all of my shared media off of my new notebook PC, wirelessly via my Belkin 54 G router. Life's good this year!

I say yes to the title question cuz both are expensive and lack any good games for the gamers to go and buy/install it in their systems. But then thats where the similarity ends cuz with vista, you might have to invest in future as you wont have any choice if they discontinue support for XP, whereas if 360 is d/c we will have the choice to go for either 720 or a ps3.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
