From what I gather, this game is quite a gem. After hearing all that depressing info about the overhyped rubbish that is Mafia 2 (imo), this is a breath of fresh air and I am greatful to be able to play it on my PS3 now.

already have the 360 version got it for like 12 bucks at wal mart one day would have been nice to have the ps3 version. Hope they port the first one also so people can enjoy both games

360 still has the best version since Mass Effect 2 really calls for Mass Effect. I still feel more compelled to play this on the 360.

Play ME1 if you can! Borrow a 360, buy a used from Gamestop and return it within a week. You'll gain so much of the storyline! I'm starting ME2 today for the first time on 360, but I can honestly tell you that there are many plot elements, character backgrounds, and history that's worth checking out.

Micrsoft has to be ticked right now. Not meant as flame bait, just pointing out that Mass Effect series was one of the last big holdouts for the 360 in terms of AAA exclusives. Now Bioware and Bungie working with EA on PS3 stuff. What has the world come to!? Glad to see Bioware expanding though. The more platforms they sell on, the happier I'll be. REALLY hope to hear about Mass Effect 3 soon though.

What about ME, I mean if you are gonna release ME2 don't you have to release ME as well. I mean it only makes sense. It doesn't bother me much since I have a 360 as well, but to the PS3 only owners, why play the 2nd game of a series without playing the first game?

If you can play MGS4 without playing the others or paying attention to it's story, I'm 100% sure you'll live with just Mass Effect 2.

Officially the only game I wanted from the 360 is now on the PS3.

Being an owner of both PS3 and X360, this kind of news is just amusing to read. I already played ME2 back in January 2010. Part of the fun about ME2 on X360 is able to import my ME1 saved game and see the little changes in the story and characters. I also replayed the game without import and the game played "more generic" without the choices I made in ME1.

Without ME1 on PS3, this very neat ME1 saved game import feature will not be available.

Don't see the point of getting so excited about a year old game by the time PS3 version comes out because if you are so interested in PS3 version and don't have X360, you probably have played it on the PC by now.

The PS3 "bonus contents" probably will be the X360 DLC stuff.

Update: Doesn't surprise me that more feedbacks on my comment will be disagree. Unless you have played the ME1 import feature, you will not understand. I'm very interested to see how my decisions from ME1 will carry into ME3 when it comes out.

Beta-testers? You obviously no nothing about ME. Without ME, ME2 really isn't as compelling. It's still a great game, but the personalization of having played ME1 and carrying your save over makes it a goty contender. They should bring ME1 over but if remember correctly Microsoft published that so licensing issues can occur.

I have wanted to play any Mass Effect game for ages because, simply put, they look amazing but I'm one of those people that would like all 3 consoles but had one, guess which, so this is amazing news. There where rumours for months but I never thought it would actually happen, my birthday is in January as well. Awesome.

great news i was going to buy another xbox to play Mass Effect 2, Gears of War 3 and Halo Reach. Now i just need gear of war and halo to be on the PS3 come on Sony you have the money make it happen

Not to mention the ps3 has lost some good exclusives such as Final Fantasy, Tekken, Metal Gear Solid, can't remember if there's anymore. Still though I think exclusives going muliplat is great because we the gamers are the ones that benefit.

This sucks because I thought this never would happen to my PS3 and so I ended buying the PC version of ME2 :(
Now to be able to use my save files on ME3 I will have to also buy the PC version.

Anyways for PS3 users that still did not play this game on the PC, I tell you that it is totally worth it.

It is a short action rpg of around 30 hours but it is so much fun and lots of different possibilities of combinations and difficulties that in the end you can play more then 100 hours of ME2.

The only thing I did not like about ME2 were the amount of DLCs ... at least Bioware/EA could make a packdge of all DLCs in a cheaper combo.
And also they did not put those DLCs for salle directelly at Steam.store.

I haven't played the first one, lol I guess I watch a long-ass Let's Play or walkthrough video on YouTube of the first Mass Effect so I get the story.

#1 ME was never an exclusive. As PS3 owners have always yelled from the highest mountain tops "Its available on PC!". So in other words, you never needed a 360 to play it. I play it on PC, it runs in higher resolution and looks great and plays great on my 50" plasma.

#2 Get used to this. As 3rd party developers have been saying loudly for the last year, the day of 3rd party exclusives is over. It costs too much to make these games, they have to realize every dime they can. The only exclusive that will exist from now on are 1st party games that manufactures pay out of their pocket to develop. MS treats the 360 as more of a PC type open platform. They arent big on exclusives as they cost 10's of millions to produce, instead they collect licensing fees and royalties off of 3rd party developers. Personally my system of choice is the PC, and there are tons of AAA 3rd party exclusives on that.

#3, The day of used games is fast coming to an end. I dont blame developers one bit. So in the same vein that 3rd party exclusives are going away, used games are too. Get used to it. The times they are a changin.

Microsoft has some great titles out there, but giving back the publishing rights to this game was a dumb move on there part. Good news for Sony, because they get a great game. Microsoft just needs to stick with software, because they can't seem to do great business in the gaming market.

Aslong as this does not cause Bioware to ignore the decisions I have made in Mass Effect 1 on the Xbox 360with Mass Effect 3 I have no problem with this. I wounder what the bonus content is though? Perhaps they are including every DLC pack with the game.

EA allow gamers to chooses how the event of the first game influences ME2? Since ME isn't coming to PS3 I assume they will have some sort of event generator that allows us to choose how each key event is played out without ME.
