Drs. Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka opened their talk at GDC with a history of BioWare, specifically a lunch they had in 1994. The topic of conversation was videogames, and how to go about creating them while juggling a medical career. For a while they juggled both the creation and management of a videogame company and their medical careers, and eventually the medical practice was reduced to hobby status until game production took over entirely. "Nobody likes a creative doctor," joked Zeschuk.
Baldur's Gate was going to be an MMO initially called Battleground Infinity, explained the doctors, which wasn't all that common a thing back in the late nineties.
Hope writes: "Classic RPGs make up some of the most formative examples of late '90s to early 2000s PC gaming in my memory, but I also remember when they weirdly disappeared. If you loved games like the original Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, or Planescape, and also wondered why we stopped seeing these kinds of titles for a bit there, well it turns out you can blame physical retailers for the decline in Dungeons-and-Dragons-style PC RPGs."
I would have loved to have bought Baldur's Gate 3 if it would have had a physical release (not the censored Japanese release).
Why can't you just buy the physical release? I have an opened one on Xbox and a sealed collector's edition for PS5.

Buy the euro version? That is available to purchase. The North American version was limited and sells for a good amount on eBay.

Fun game but, wow, you need a college degree to understand the controls.
A remaster would also save you from having to constantly fight the camera.
Keep the music though. Those drum and bass tracks fit really well and haven't aged. Made me think that more games could work well with drum and bass tracks, but unfortunately it's a somewhat niche genre now.
i could have sworn i read somewhere that Remedy is remaking May Payne 1 but things have been quiet lately
