One Of Swords: "I actually don’t think that people truly hate Activision as a company or even its individual development studios; I think they just disagree with any number of the company’s business decisions, and that manifests as bitter, often irrational, comments about Bobby Kotick. And gamers really love to focus on him because of…Those Infamous Comments.
When I saw how frequently these comments were brought up, I decided to put my journalistic hat back on and investigate them. I mean, saying you want to take all the fun out of gaming…that can’t be real, can it? Sure enough, when I looked at the original statements in their original context, I found that many people are citing Those Infamous Comments incorrectly, reinforcing factual errors and misinterpretations — maybe accidentally, maybe willfully."

Chance Glasco, one of the co-founders of Infinity Ward and creators of the Call of Duty franchise, has claimed that Activision once pressured the studio to include an invasion of Israel by Iran.

Former CEO describes lawsuit filed by Swedish pension fund as a "collateral attack" on Activision Blizzard.
Kotick Made $155 million from MS in the buyout, the little b*tch needs to stop whining. Thanks to this Microslop deal and massive industry consolidation thousands upon thousands of devs and other workers lost their livelihoods. This greedy piggie pervert needs shut up and f-off.

Windows Central: "The money may keep rolling in, but Microsoft is the custodian of one of the biggest selling video game series in history. If something doesn't change, I fear we'll reach a breaking point and irreparable damage will have been done."
In my view, they should probably merge MP with Warzone and essentially make it free to play like Halo Infinite. The campaign/zombies mode can be $30 yearly DLC. I know this would be insanity as most COD players essentially pay the full price of the game simply for the MP. However-with a shrinking player base they may have to consider it. Making it free would bring in a ton of players.
To late MW3 should have been a lesson but here we are two years later with a steaming pile a shite called blops7
Nothing lasts forever, eventually something will come along to make people forget about COD
Call of Duty was riding the revenue horse and charts for ~20 years. Whether undeserved or deserved.
But I endorse everyone to remind you that Microsoft could have decided differently when they took it over.
The money was certainly there, and they could have taken their time revamping the franchise:
Current-gen tech, manageable microtransactions, not imitating Fortnite and returning to core values of the franchise's origin.
They didn't.
Let's see next year. Hopefully without the then 13 years old PS4 and One hardware.
Who do these guys think they are getting the full story to press rather than jumping on a few juicy tidbits and regurgitating what others say? Don't they know how to journalize? If this keeps up there might, just might, be SOME integrity brought into journalism. I mean, think of the children! Journalists actually covering how the war in Afghanistan is really going, or how the world REALLY views the USA! Oh, the HUMANITY!!
(The preceding message was PURELY sarcastic.)
Wow a Bobby K circle jerk, let me douse you in gasoline and light a cigarette.......
Lets look at some facts,
1st. His dealings with Tim Schafer, whether you like his games or not he has the respect of almost all gamers who know his name from his beginnings @ lucas to him going it alone he is an important voice to the real industry that is people that play and create games, not people that f**king sell them. Kotick set about doing what he could to end the guys career completely. Google it.
2nd. Raising game prices, for no apparent reason nothing to do with inflation, quantity or quality of product its simply "Because We Can".
3rd. Forceful removal of what was Infinity Ward, no matter how you try to spin it, or make it go away its a defining example of a business being run for ALL the wrong reasons. If you dont understand that you have never worked at a big company.
There are so many more its unbelievable, i have better posts to make lol.
Amazing how all the infamous comments from Kotick were "taken out of context". One of Swords really needs to look at BP and their former CEO's comments as an example of how sometimes it is better for the CEO just to keep their flippin mouth shut.
Bobby would like to see all activision games have a diff model, the game price up and a subscription on top of it, he has spoken at conferences spreading this idea to other companies
Bobby will burn, I boycott Activision products
End of Store
Kotick is BAD for gaming.. just admit it. The quotes you mentioned were nothing more than ammunition used against the guy. The very fact he charged us more for mw2 just because he could shows this. It's not like he came out and apologized and tried to make amends for the awful public opinion of him. Might have been able to debunk some comments but it doesn't change that the gamers would be better off without Kotick. Also don't even get me started on the treatment of the former IW employees.
