I've been following this, it's a shame as Billy is a POS and needs karma, but karl and his team really fumbled the court case. I'm not surprised at the verdict from the judge as the case was never really about his known cheating, but the seemingly now false claim from karl about apollo's passing being attributed to billy, and his lack of willingness to meaningfully backtrack and apologise for the claim.
Jobst also has his own controversies that were shown on Discord so I can't have much sympathy for him either. He is just one step away from that old tired angry at everything right wing manosphere.

Dude crossed a line when he made that claim about Apollo. Seems the second that was brought up the courts lost all interest in the cheating allegations and just focused on that instead.
What i find interesting is that i had only really been exposed to Jobst's content in respect of the court cases, so I thought it was a slam dunk that Billy would lose. Goes to show the dangers of relying on one interested party's 'version' of the facts I guess.
I am still left in no doubt that Mitchell is a scum bag mind you, and it really stings to thing of him getting that pay out too.
I don't support either side passionately. One is a accused cheater with a lot of evidence against him, and the other has allegedly said some pretty spice stuff in the past. With this court case settled now I guess both of them at some point has told lies. I would think the right side to back is the one that is trying to prove Billy cheated.

Billy mitchell is an original old school gamer, an ancient from the 70's like myself. However he is also considered to be a Tron. One of the best gamers of the ancient days. There a Trons now like Ninja and others who are simply the best. If you play Pacman on the ps4 you will sew a few Trons on the scoreboard too. Trons just do the most amazing things and are a joy to watch. Billy is fantastic at Donkey Kong and many others skill based games and he is an old fart now. Bottem line is he made that extremely hard score . You might as well respect an original Tron. It is a gamers heritage.

I’ve never heard that term, Tron, before. But I like your explanation. Billy Mitchell before he moved to Walford clearly was playing arcade games well. I don’t know if he used Mame, but everyone deserves a second chance. He should have the Guinness book of Records attend to verify his scores, that would be recorded world best scores that would secure his redemption.
So, Guiness should just do away with their own rules that they won't credit him with a record because he hasn't provided a verifiable source that he's achieved a perfect score?

I think the guy is a really good player. I don't doubt that he could have achieved the scores he has at some point. But he didn't fulfill the requirements to be considered the record holder for Guiness, or twin galaxies who are their source for verification. Twin Galaxies sets the rules for achievement for Guiness.
I don't generally respect cheaters regardless of their skill. If the guy didn't always come across as a douche bag then I may be more willing to be forgiving.
