Nippon Ichi Cancels Three Games

Nippon Ichi announced three titles, which were in development as of last year, have been cancelled.

Siliconera writes:

After evaluating the quality of the titles and current market conditions, Nippon Ichi decided to cease further development. Canceling these games cost Nippon Ichi 21 million yen ($244,000), which was posted as a one time special loss for the company.

No names were given so it seems like the canceled games were unannounced titles.

244,000??????? that's it? That'S light money for this big companies I guess those titles were DS games or wtv.

That's more like the cost of the development teams' salaries since I'm sure the canceled games were never announced or hinted at. If you look at how much money was lost straight-up, it might be the equivalent of a five/six-man dev team.

Had the games been announced and slightly promoted, the costs might have been far higher.

3 games that will never see the light of the day ..

Well , thankfully NIS has many other titles and plenty of ideas

NIS is company that has survived to this day and I wish to see them continue to persevere.

It doesn’t seem like a major shakeup , as the man put in the new position has many credits to his name similar to the old president .

I like this company I hope it grows and creates some more great games and new IPs . Good luck to both of them in their new positions in life thanks for the games Mr Sohei Niikawa
