Tetsuya Mizuguchi is the creator of cult classics Space Channel 5, Rez and PSP puzzler Lumines, among others.
The former Sega designer and his studio, Q Entertainment, are famous for psychedelic visuals and music-lead video games, often pegged as 'synaesthesia' experiences (that's seeing sound and hearing sight, art fans).
Mizuguchi-san's latest project is a spiritual sequel of sorts to his most critically successful game to date, Rez. It's called Child of Eden and it's perhaps the most exciting core game in the Kinect line-up.
CVG: Were you surprised to discover that your game was one of few 'core' Kinect games at E3?
TM: It wasn't actually a surprise. I don't really care about genres, and to me Child of Eden isn't a core game or a casual game. I'm making a game that everybody can enjoy. That said, I do appreciate that core gamers - people who appreciate exciting core games - view Child of Eden as something they'd play.

"It's not just about blocks dropping"

Atari has obtained the rights to five lesser-known Ubisoft titles. The deal includes Cold Fear, I Am Alive, Child of Eden, Grow Home, and Grow Up.

From VGC: "Four years ago, Tetsuya Mizuguchi shared a trailer for his next game.
It began with bright colours dancing across a dark background and a voice over speaking enigmatically about a medical study during which participants reported seeing colourful images from a game in their mind, just as they were falling asleep.
As the soothing trance music swelled and the colours became overwhelming, the voice over read the line: “Blocks, they all saw blocks. Falling through space, sometimes rotating or fitting neatly into empty spaces between other blocks. Some participants also reported seeing completed lines disappear.”"
Tetris Effect VR is a mind expanding really cool VR game. What an incredible game, love the VR dolphins.
Please add Move support Mizuguchi. Also never even thought about adding 3D until this article. I think he will actually consider it. Games like his could really take advantage of manipulating depth that the more relastic games aren't as allowed to do.
