Actually I thought the PS3 version handled lighting and visuals slightly better than it's 360 counterpart.

Although at times, during physics intensive sequences, the PS3s framerate drops a little lower than the 360s. Not even close to levels that it's unplayable though. (still above 20fps). That and the PS3s loading sequences take a couple seconds longer.

Pretty even though, and doesn't even compare to the other 'bad ports' like bayonetta.

You're exaggerating the loading times. You can quite clearly see: http://www.joystiq.com/2007... that the PS3 version loads only 1-3 seconds later than the 360 version, that and that both take more than 1-2 seconds.

Btw I'm pretty sure this is worse than the lowest graphical settings. This is happening when running on something that the game isn't even supposed to run on, presumably. I tried just now to get it to look this bad and it won't go.

on the PS3 the game needs to reload when you die, not on the 360

also there are some sounds gone on the PS3, BUT the PS3 version has a blur filter to counter aliasing and the consoles version have more HDR effects than the PC, the PC don't get these effects cuz otherwise a patch of 3 gigabytes would be needed(to replace all the maps)

also the consoles version have an extra layer of detail textures in HL2 but I heard this was also patched into the PC two months ago(when they released HL2 for the mac)

I once compared HL2 PC vs PS3 side by side the differences are sometimes strange, like some plants missing on the PS3(no big deal it were very ugly ancient sprites anyway, maybe they deleted them on purpose; game looks better without them)

Actually, ocelot, now the PC has the same maps with HDR etc. When HL2 launched for Mac, it got all the achievements/features of the 360 version.

That and they added motion blur. It totally ruined the look of the game while looking around quickly, and running.

Not everyone's pc back in 2004.

I liked the motion blur alot, I know some people hate it though. I was pretty happy when it was included in the PC Half-Life 2 update a couple months ago.
