We love... Peter Molyneux

Bit-tramp writes: "We love…..Peter Molyneux, for oh so many reasons.

Of late, the enigmatic front man of Lionhead studios has come under fire from the gaming population at large, and is now often seen as more of a punchline than a prophet. The gaming world was once enthralled with the ideas and vision of this man, but sadly on more than one occasion his games failed to live up to his hype. This has lead to his slow evolution from prominent gaming visionary, to the game world’s equivalent of a deranged cat lady. But we still love him, and here’s why…"

crzyjackbauer5773d ago

i hate Peter Molyneux maybe because he looks like Steve Jobs
they both look reallly douchy

Army_of_Darkness5773d ago

He talks like he knows it all in a Manipulative, brain washing type of way that only works on 360 fanboys!
everytime I hear time talk, I just wanna drop kick him in the head:D

Pennywise5773d ago

I kind of like the new format of crap opinions shoved down your throat. I was addicted to N4G and the new format makes me dislike the site. Now I need to quit visiting.

sebtramp5773d ago

if you don't like it, you could always go somewhere else

or better yet, get off your arse and write something yourself if you can do a better job

Pennywise5773d ago

and here comes the emo blogger!

Darkstorn5773d ago

What's with the Molyneux hate? The man made one of the best games of last gen, even if it didn't include all of the promises associated with it.

and here comes the massive arsehole!

once again, if you don't like it why don't you stop bitching and do something about it?

Boody-Bandit5773d ago (Edited 5773d ago )

Learn how to reply.
Don't you just love it when a brand new account (smells like a multi account) comes here and tells an N4G vet like pennywise to piss off yet he himself doesn't even know how to reply directly to him?

Let me guess.
This is your article sebtramp.
Just another in a long line of lame shameless bloggers posting garbage and then running here defending it. Add to that the sheer audacity to tell N4G members to piss off because they don't like it. If it wasn't for N4G and it's members, garbage bloggers such as yourself wouldn't have a voice. So why don't you show a little respect to the people that take the time to read your tripe?

ChozenWoan5773d ago

it's his name so we have no choice really. lol

Lol pwned by brutallyhonest

DigitalRaptor5773d ago (Edited 5773d ago )

Sorry, but I have to agree with Pennywise. I'm not critising the quality of the article (although I think Peter Molyneux only disappoints his fans).

But this site is called N4G (News for Gamers). This is about as much news as "Paris Hilton has a new handbag!"

sebtramp5773d ago

bah, suppose I'll have to give it to you that it's not exactly news but maybe... just maybe someone will read it and enjoy it.

DigitalRaptor5773d ago (Edited 5773d ago )

I would read it if I were interested in Molyneux or his games, but unfortunately, no. But I guess your article is at home here on N4G and no amount of complainers will stop that. This is a site for all kinds of articles it seems.

bit-tramp5773d ago (Edited 5773d ago )

To be fair, we wouldn't submit this either if it was just a site for news. But there is a reason that "Opinion piece" is a selection and option on N4G. We decided to take advantage of this new section by hopefully writing the odd article (other than news) that is of our own opinion and that hopefully you enjoy it.

This article is just a bit of fun, if you read it - you may see what we mean when we say it.

MxShade5773d ago

"News" is just one category on N4G. We wouldn't have "Retro" or "Article" or "Opinion Piece" among others if it was purely for the latest news.

I find that those who use "This isn't news" only report it on pieces they don't like, rather than reporting every single piece that isn't classified as News as "not news."

JL5773d ago

People report "This isn't news" to more accurately mean "This isn't newsworthy". Meaning whether it's an article, opinion piece or news or what, that it's just stupid and isn't important or interesting at all.

MxShade5773d ago

@X__JL__X : well then, isn't that what "Lame" is for? :)

bjornbear5773d ago

this is under opinion piece, so its fair

what I do hate is when you get stupid asinine "facts" from retarded sites like gofanboy and nowgamer defined as "News"

"Be creative 99% of the time" – Glen Schofield on how creativity can help fix AAA industry woes

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman36d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
