"But all of the best Move games are also able to played with a regular controller, which most of the gamers interested in this sort of thing will much rather play with."

So true but no one seems to want to admit it.

The thing with Move we have seen all these games before on the Wii, its exactly the same. Just look at the pics used for Move and Wii its hard to tell them apart.

Sheikh Yerbouti5763d ago

Move for hardcore games is the foot in the door for Sony. Hardcore gamers are more likely to play casual games than casual gamers are likely to play hardcore. Get them to pick up Move and they'll become the best product endorsers because. We have to see if this works, but I'm betting it will.

What I think will likely happen is that Move will become widely adopted for FPS at first and then players will go back to the traditional controllers if multiplayer becomes unbalanced as a result.

Unbiased_gamer5763d ago

Compare the video of Nintendo's Miyamoto demoing their new Motion Plus flagship game Skyward Sword (a game I am looking forward to playing BTW) to say Sony's Sorcery and you can clearly see the difference between the two. It's all about the accuracy here. True the two may look very similar but I believe they will feel miles apart. I've played with the Wiii Motion plus and it's pretty good but not true 1:1 the Move (with tthe funny little ball) seems to be able to deliver what Nintento was trying to sell. If it's as accurate as it seems to be and the game developers are able to take full advantage of it we could be in for some very good times. Plus I might actually start playing FPS shooters on console again if the rumors art true ;)

Gr815763d ago

Compare a botched demonstration obviously due to infrared interference to another demonstration with out interference? Makes little sense to me. Look at Harry Potter for Wii in comparison to Sorcery and its the same damn thing. I guess its only different because of the company logo on the controller?

I find it so hilarious that people claim Move is 'for hardcore gamers' whatever THAT means lol. I guess The Shoot can be considered a hardcore game, right? Maybe Sports Champions is hardcore too...btw what the hell is a hardcore game any way?

EvilTwin5763d ago

^
Truth.

Compare Miyamoto's onscreen demo to ANY of the youtube vids of other people playing the exact same demo, and experiencing none of the same problems.

@Omega4

"The thing with Move we have seen all [these games before] on the Wii, [its exactly the same]"

I can say the exact same thing about kinect, we have seen all these games before with Eyetoy, it's exactly the same

"Move games are also able to played with a regular controller"

This a total misconception, you don't need games for Move, you need games to play with Move, keyword is [OPTIONS] and if Move can deliver a better performance than the DS3, what anyone is going to say, I know Move will work great with RTS games, something it can't be said about regular controllers, also Sport Champions IF can work with the DS3, will be a pain...

The only important things is that Move works Great with ALL the Games, who cares if it's not an special game only for Move, you want to play games with the device,

you talk like all the games Move is showing were done on the wii, I can say the same about kinect doing the exact same thing Eyetoy did since 2003, in fact the only games shown for kinect are the red-ball game, I give you that as the "only" game not done before, then the mii-too athletics done on the wii, the mii-too bowling game done on other consoles (High Velocity Bowling getting a patch for Move) and just dance central done on the wii, nothing else

ChozenWoan5763d ago (Edited 5763d ago )

Just look at kinect and eyetoy games, other than AA, it's hard to tell them apart.

Edit:
I just feed a troll... someone slap me plz.

Edit2(the sequel):
Don't forget that Your Shape is the same as Kinectic for the EyeToy. ohh and Sonic Riders (whatever) is the same as Anti-Grav.

Neko_Mega5763d ago

Oh it is the same as Wii? Ok then I guess by what you are saying that Kinect is the same as EyeToy or a normal web cam.

RageAgainstTheMShine5762d ago

@ Omega4
I hope you buy as many Kinect units you & your friends can possibly afford. you deserve Kinect.

And by all means never ever buy the PS Move, please? You don't deserve it.

I agree with you and that statement in the article. Even Kinect is mainly just another form of the Wii. Sure the extra functions of Kinect are cool, but are they worth parting with your hard earned, especially if you have a Wii? I am mainly interested in Move due to Sony aiming it more at the hardcore gamers with Move support for shooters like Killzone 3 and SOCOM 4. I am keen to try the Move add-on with K3, that's for sure. But as the statement that Omega4 grabbed from the article says, Killzone 3 and other games are still going to be very playable with the regular controller, so again, is it worth paying for? Time will tell what Sony and MS actually develop with these motion controllers.

Pillville5763d ago

Omega4 is not here to discuss, he's a MS marketing plant here to blindly hype Xbox products.

¿You are new?

Omega is just a Troll, besides Ignorant. Is not worth to talk with him.

ARBitrator5763d ago

I get your point but in a different way. I think, for people already owning a wii, Move for the simple point of owning Move is not enough to buy a PS3. Move and the WiiMote and for the most part the same thing, and being that the wii doesn't need a giant glowing ORB on top of it shows that the wii does it better.

I have a couple of questions about move that no one seem to want to answer. What happens if the ORB is covered, say with a dark sock, does move still work as good as a wiimote? Is the bulb in the move controller user replaceable or do you need to go buy a new controller should the bulb blow out? (Just curious)

Back to my point...Sony, simply bought a wii, disected it and copied what they needed, then they added the PS Eye to it (Being that they were doing nothing with the PS Eye anyway besides video playback for Singstar.

IDK, I just think it's funny how PS fans like to call kinect a PS Eye clone, but somehow that are incapable of saying that Move is a Wii-Mote clone. Are they just being a$$holes, or are they really that STUPID? (Or are they just STUPID A$$HOLES?)

Qui-Gon Jim5762d ago

I usually cover my controllers with black socks, so will Move work for me?

In all seriousness, if you do cover the orb on the Move controller, then it works exactly like the Wii MotionPlus when it's not pointing at the sensor bar. The system just picks the positional tracking back up when the orb comes back into view. And there is no bulb to burn out, it uses LED's, they never burn out.

Sony was working on what became the Move years ago, before the Wii was even announced. I think they probably had shelved it and picked it back up after the success of the Wii, but it is Sony's own tech, not a copy.

Colonel-Killzone5763d ago

Yawn another rinse recycle article with the same topic all over again.

ChickeyCantor5763d ago

But that is so ironic...cause thats the same comment over and over in these artitcles.

JUST SAYIN...

I dont think these articles are bad though, i mean some do actually have a good perspective on it...SOME.

Colonel-Killzone5763d ago

Barely any perspective...

No need to change what I say because its the Samething over and over therefore I will say the same comment over and over.

Capiche ?

Nathaniel_Drake5763d ago

You're right, but the person who wrote this article hasn't finished researching the tech yet

Terarmzar5763d ago

So what if the Move and even kinect have Similarities to the Wii, if it fun play it. I dont hear people complaining well the Playstation controller and Xbox controller are almost the same so there for there a rip off..

Unbiased_gamer5763d ago

^^ Thank you!

OMG 360 has 2 Analog sticks on it they totally riped off Sony who riped off Nintendo everybody sucks because they rip each other off and now we have better controllers because of it OMGzzzz Now shut up!

PlayStation Move Controller Used to Perform Surgery on a Pig That Was 5,780 Miles Away

A group of surgeons made headlines after they managed to perform an endoscopic procedure on a pig located in Hong Kong by using PlayStation controllers. It involved the use of a PS5 DualSense controller as well as a PlayStation Move controller.

jznrpg576d ago

There is at least a few good jokes that could come from that title

Cacabunga575d ago

Yet another powerful device Sony gave up supporting. KZ3 move was one of the best motion controller implementation ever

just_looken575d ago

Right the ps move was awesome i have the gun thing from killzone still.

Relientk77576d ago

That's really cool. It's crazy something like that is possible with gaming controllers 1000's of miles away.

Lexreborn2576d ago

Guess that submarine should’ve used move controllers instead of logitech
