Don't vote me down, I don't mean this in the worst way but.

Someone buys a Core, in order to obtain the equivilant, feature wise, in a PS3, now they'd have to get: Wireless device, HD-DVD add-on, hard drive, play-and-charge kit, and the cooling device, and then you have a completely decked out fail proof 360.

I mean, you see where I'm coming from right? I don't know, I want to get a 360 for Mass Effect (I'm not a Halo fan, so ME is the only game that has me raving right now), but the value of the console just doesn't do it for me with all these addons and all. I don't know.

This is in line with existing company policy. They already make the "most secure" OS and sell antivirus, antispam, firewall, backup, anal intruder, etc...

Microsoft and hardware have not had a good run in the last while. I hope they do not "cheap out" again n hopes of getting some return on their investment ... However, if this turns out to be a quality product then all the more power for MS ... they're about to be de-throned by Nintendo and they need to start shaping up for the coming months of this war.

Well everyone knows MS dislikes 3rd parties developing anything for there machine (outside of games obviously) so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if this turned out to be true.

my 2 360's haven't had problems, one being launch and the other being purcahsed just a while ago...

#1 Microsoft makes the OS for computers not the computer itsself (OS = Operating System)
#2 Microsoft puts new heatsinks in 360's plus 65n chip is their new systems. You no longeer need a cooler.
- As far as this rumor goes t's debunked to me, why add hardware to cool it down then add an external colling system. (makes no sense)
- For the people with older systems with the older chipsets you will not get the new chips as they require a whole new board, but you will get the new heatsink so you dont need a cooler.

why the hell would they try n profit from there own mistake, its ludicrous. they should be sending these out to every single xbox360 owner free of charge like those damn power cords on the original xbox (that they are now getting sued over), if they do attempt to make any kind of profit from these 1st party fans I will never buy another MS product.

Did everyone miss the fact that this is a rumor. MS is not going to make a cooling device it sends a bad message and I'm sure they feel their solution to the overheating issues have been resolved with this fix. Believe me, it's in their best interest to make sure it works. You just don't throw a billion dollars at a half-assed solution. There has not been any reports of people with the heatsync fix having further issues. MS know how to make a good box, look at the Xbox1 it was a freakin tank and a lot better design than the PS2.

I've got 2 360's and never had an issue with either so I don't know what else to say except it's been a great gaming system for me.

I also find it funny how this article has 3-4 commentors who actually own a 360 and the rest are just hear to take the same old shots at the this console. I don't think it's fair to the 360 users on this site that they can't have a decent conversation about the 360 without having to spent all their bubbles defending themselves. My advice to the people who do want to have a "grown-up" conversation about this console stop responding to the trolls or use the ignore feature. They have this false sense that if they scream long enough that they don't like the 360 that they will convert someone or sell a PS3 for Sony(you would think they are getting a cut) but the people who have a 360 with no problems understand it's a great console with great games.

Early this fall the down sized 65 nano chips will be installed in the newer consoles. so external cooling devices will not be required.

if M$ really wants to diminish consumer confidence, this would be the way to proceed.

this post would fit very nicely in someones comedy routine.

Microsoft CANNOT create a cooling device for their own console, people will then argue that the 360 was not created with enough cooling causing the consumer to then purchase an additional product from Microsoft.

Its like saying 'Well you bought the console but we didnt put any fans in it, you have to buy that seperatly'.

I would be pretty upset if Microsoft did make their own...

RFOM simply rocks - motorstorm online is by far the craziest ride ever! that game is keeping me happy and i bought that back in march - we also have rainbow 6...but since its a port i dont even bother

and once again - trying to show that 360 has games and PS3 doesnt but yet ignore the fact the PS3 just launched and the 360 is ahead one year - and from the games i see on the 360 lol its nothing to be happy about
