Dance Dance Revolution vs. Dance Central

Flame On

Parapraxis5765d ago

jaytv-pyro I thought Dance Central was coming to PS3 + Move as well?

Azianphil885765d ago

me too i heard that the developers of Dance Central was thinking about going multi plat.

Dance Dance Revolution is already on 360 so how would this put Kinect in trouble?

beardpapa5765d ago

well DDR was always more fun and exciting to play & watch. It also doubled as an extensive workout if you used the calorie counter that it had. Only thing was you had to get a really good DDR mat for a great experience.

There was also this other DDR-like arcade game (I forget the name) that utilized the hands too, and you had to move your hands to follow the on-screen avatar at times so basically hands and feet. I suppose Dance Central follows this concept, but from what I've seen, it doesn't follow the mechanics. So far from the videos, the difficulty in Dance Central is like playing an extremely basic song in DDR - you just gotta get some moves right.

the other game your talking about is parapara paradise xD Anyway the ddr series died after max ;-;. They started adding all these horrible songs it was just unberable. Ill stick with stepmania and djmax for now.

Bigpappy5765d ago

Will they use the mat and with the move? Will the use Move and the PSeye motion sensing? Will you have to use 4 Moves for your hand and legs? Will they just port what they are doing for Wii? Or, will they implement it the same as Kinect with no Move support?

I am enjoying this motion control competition to see how developers are going to make their games for each console, and how fans react to the differences.

Looks like PS3 will get a version similat to the Wii. The Wii version has the same name and depics 2 glowing sticks (one in each hand). The 360 version is called "Dance Master". After seeing the demo's for each, I am nolonger interested in either. I think Dance central is much better and I hope there will be a version of that for PSeye, so my frieds on PS3 can play this great effort by Hamonix (MTV). I think they said they would like to bring it to PS3 at E3, but not sure. Hamonix is not known for exclusives.

I thought the next DDR was coming to the PS3 and 360?

And, to those asking, IIRC it is coming with its own DDR mat, similar to the old games.

Kamikaze1355765d ago

It was announced a while ago and nothing more was said about it. Of course it'll come with a dance mat..how else can you dance? lol. I just REALLY hope the song selection isn't like the DDR games on the Wii. I want to see classic DDR songs and new ones.

Godmars2905765d ago

And this is a good thing...why?

raztad5765d ago

because it is not a bad thing, perhaps?

redDevil875765d ago

Its good for me because its fun and gave me and my mates jokes. Seeing one of your mates struggle on the 1 foot speed is funny as hell.

IneedWeed5765d ago

Wow I'm so surprised. A Japanese Dancing game going on to a Japanese Console. Is this going to be PS Move enabled?

TheTeam065765d ago

I remember those days....

One of the few crazes to get adopted by America from Japan. Normally we just think they're weird (I love them, tho).

How can you not include Shenmue? A lot of what we see today in gaming started with Shenmue.
