The Monster Hunter craze live on!

Many RPG games on that list. I wonder if Dragon Quest X can sell as well as the previous games.

Monster Hunter will keep the PSP alive in Japan.

Eric Cartman5779d ago

Yes, Monster Hunter games really helped PSP in Japan. Tri on Wii barely crossed the one million mark. It appears people there prefer the game on handhelds.

Perjoss5779d ago

which is strange as the camera is terrible on the PSP compared to the wii. I Dream of a ps3 / 360 / PC western release.

Monster Hunter on the Wii didn't even out sell the MH games on the PSP and The Last Remnant is still being asked for on the PS3. Square Enix I thought you love money?

ThanatosDMC5779d ago

What are you talking about?! The Tri camera sucked so much compared to the simpler PSP MH titles. Yes, even with the controller bundled with the game and not to mention that the sticks werent precise and the buttons arents as squeezy or however you would describe that feeling. The bundled controller's buttons were hard.

You know what I find funny? The Last Remnant for PS3 is still on there at 14th place.

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman42d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
