Ex-GRIN members have formed a new development studio called Whiteout.
The developer intends to focus on digital markets and currently has a CryEngine 3 project in the works, GamesIndustry.biz reports.
"We've got some very exciting concepts under development," said Whiteout co-founder and former GRIN producer Joel Fagerlund. "We are currently working on a bigger project in CryEngine 3, and thanks to the excellent technology and support from Crytek, we have been able to carefully handcraft a playable prototype that will knock your socks off."

Exclusive interview with Joel Fagerlund, co-founder of Whiteout and former producer at GRIN, a Swedish game developing studio behind games such as Bionic Commando: Rearmed as well as Wanted: Weapons Of Fate. Before that, he also worked at Avalanche Studios as a QA Lead, working on games like Just Cause 2.
We’ve gotten the privilege to provide you with this interview which will be mainly about Joel and his career so far. There are many questions which we wanted answers for. And even though Joel and his colleagues are under some stress now because they’ve just announced the launch of their new game studio Whiteout, he kindly agreed to be interviewed by us here at GamersCall. The launch of this new studio spread like wildfire over the internet and with a recent visit to GamesCom in Cologne, the guys at Whiteout have been far from lazy. Without further ado, we’re happy to present the interview featuring a producer making his way into the gaming market.
After three mediocre outings this gen I'm pretty sure my socks will stay right where they are.
bionic commando got a bum rap, it was a solid game.
Their best looking game was Fortress and it was never released.
