Plundering for Platinums: Heavy Rain

When I was kid, I used to love those “Choose your own Adventure” books. They were always so neat because instead of reading them from cover to cover, you always got to feel like you were the hero when you survived the story, and sometimes you’d even gleam a morbid grin when your hero met a sudden untimely demise. Everything you did felt final, important, real, and pretty much awesome. Did you ever wonder what that feeling would be like if the same principles were applied to a game? No? Yeah, neither did I.

Most of the trophies aren't too difficult. Playing through for the PERFECT CRIME is a bit of a challenge, since it's kind of a fixed way of playing. Almost like a perfect playthrough in a whole new story.

plat is easy with a guide, without I'd like to see who can get perfect crime just by trial and error, amazing game only plat I did that didn't feel a bit like a chore, well this and R&C ACIT.

But talking about the "choose your own adventure books" the type by Ian Livingstone "warlock of firetop mountain" type books I used to cheat by looking at all the pages options and holding the pages as I went forwards.

I used to run out of fingers and bookmarks! Sorry I cheated now. (Didn't do that on Heavy rain :)

Please stop comparing video games to movies

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.

I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.

Yes, please stop. They're better than most hollywood drivel nowadays.

I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.

No. Some games are like movies.

medman2011d ago (Edited 2011d ago )

No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.
