But with platforms such as steam, direct2drive, GoG and now Beamdog – we seem to have hit a good point in which can be focused on due to the seemingly good business model that PC gamers have taken to extremely well. Beamdog is a service which includes a native desktop client to download, install and launch games in order to help improve the PC Gaming experience, this is a projected headed by Trent Oster an Ex-Bioware developer and Cameron Tofer a veteran of the industry."

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
It's nice to have alternatives but the best alternative, something that's truly different (excluding Gog.com which is quite unique if I'm being fair) is greenmangaming.com
You can trade games in to the value of another game at any time you like. If Steam had this feature I'd probably not have to spend money on a game. :P
The pickings are slim but there are definitely some great games over at greenmangaming and I recommend you to bookmark it for future use (actually right now they're having a buy 1 get 1 free which is a good time to just test the site).
But about this article and Beamdog : it doesn't look like it's doing MUCH new. This is like Xfire in a way (xfire has a store now), so stick with that, or Steam (I looove Steam).
