killed it for me. Shooters already established a pretty standard button layout. Going against it is just stupid.

It's like every shooters already make R1 the shoot button, and then another game comes along and just decide that it want to confuse the gamer and make something like Square the shoot button instead. It's just stupid.

Not saying that Lost Planet made Square the shoot button, but still Lost Planet's button layout is just messed up and non-standard. The sensitivity was also pretty bad.

I couldn't disagree more. It's what works for the game. "confuse the gamer" ? This is what I completely dislike about the newer generation of gamers. You don't pop the game in as soon as you get home do you? You have to take the time to read the manual learn the controls, read the story! You would be surprised on what you can find out in the manual. Back in the day there was no tutorial as you go along you had to either figure it out or read it! Not every game works well with the same controller lay out. LP2 was fun as hell imo. Don't be an A.D.D gamer take the time to appreciate what the game is. If you being unable to enjoy a game because the layout was not the same as every other shooter than I would hate to see write a review for games like Heavy Rain! NOOOOOO NOOOO SHOOTING BUTTON NOOOO!

haha! Where were you during the 90s? They've always milked the Street Fighter series since SF2. You got your SF2, SF2CE, SF2Turbo, SSF2, & SSF2Turbo.

WTF are you all talking about Dizzlek is right, I listened to reviewers and didn't bought it then i rented it and rushed to buy it as soon as i returned it.

It's fucking awesome you all people are COD fans if it's not COD controls you can't play it not even the reviewers...

I was one of those people that was hyped up for this game because I enjoyed Lost Planet one, but when I saw it had bad reviews from multiple reviewers, I decided to rent it. And I'm glad I did because it was totally different from what I was expecting. A weak story, no characters, lame plot, really loses it's pace when chapters are divided into missions which like last for a few minutes and then back to a loading screen. This game was basically made for Mulitplayer in mind which really disappointed me.

I'm guessing the only approach for sequels to step up for Jun Takeuchi is to just add multiplayer just like RE5 and Lost Planet 2 with lacking substance for campaign/ single player.

I think can respect that; thinking for yourself and not letting reviews dictate your choices is what I always do. Despite the carpet-bombing of certain games and Kinect, I'll always try to wait to see for myself what's what.

Capcom did an awesome job is just the retared COD fans and stupid reviewrs can't play anything but COD.

The game force you to play with other online..the reviewers just didn't get it..if you played solo you just couldnt defeat the bosses or clear the levels..

Played with a friend and two strangers online..had a blast..the bosses were amazing...

The multiplayer didn't impress me..but then again I didn't give it much of a try..still havent traded it in..because I would love to play the campaign again..

Capcom's right..the game could have used alot more promotion..

In the end..it sounds like it did 1.5 million..which is better than alot of games out there

it's a nice thought but at the end of the days these companies are in the video games industry as as business to make money, therefore to them a failure is spending all these development costs and then not being able to sell the numbers they were hoping for

I personally enjoyed Too Human and Haze and really feel that they we killed by being mediocre and too much hype behind them. I enjoyed them, but both titles were failures critically, and commercially.

Crappy controls, crappy IA, boring generic and one-way-straight-game-and-leve l-design, unable to join in coop at anytime, split screen ridiculous (30% of your screen is black)... well well... And i only played it once (for 3 hours) at a friend's house.
I still want to buy it and give it a complete run, at least one time, but i do not plan to buy it for more than 15€$.

Lost Planet 2 just ain't great. Its alright. But its not what was expected from it. And gamers won't buy unlimited games, but just the best of them. The choice in the first half of this year between GOWIII, Mass Effect 2, Modnation Racers, Red Dead Redemption, Alan Wake or... Lost Planet 2. Well then LP2 is way, waaaaaaaaay below on the bottom of many gamers lists.

I'm not sure why people complain about the controls.

They are 1:1 the same as for example, Gears of War. Aside the inclusion of a grappling hook. Of course they use the start button to heal too, which is a little different.

But is done so that you can't be in combat and healing, to press start you have to take your hand from the right side of the controller, leaving you vulnerable. This makes sense within the gameplay.

Everything aside that though, the aiming, the shooting of the weapons, even the freaking flight control. Was extremely simple to grasp.

@assclown the reason for the 30% blackscreen is so the display is squared up. If devs did a true 50/50 split the game would look stretched on HD TV's. If you play on a SD TV more of the screen area is used, but most games are designed with HD screens in mind first so that's the reason for the black area.

I really dislike Capcom or Scamcom as I like to call them, because they are the worst nickel & Dimeing company out there. Even Activision doesn't lock as much content in their games as Capcom. So I am glad they are failing and losing money!

Maybe this will open their eyes about ripping off their customers on such a regular basis.

I tell you what was wrong with LP2, No story, gameplay was boring, no good multiplayer maps, and character customization was terrible. It was just a great big disappointment, that realy sucks because i was one of the few who liked the first lost planet and played LP1's multiplayer regularly.
