In a recent turn of events, the Guild Wars 2 team has confirmed that the game's level cap will be much higher than the Guild Wars 1 level cap of 20. Guild Wars 2 will feature 80 levels of content, however the amount of experience it will take from level to level will remain relatively the same.
In this way, the game will still not focus on grinding to reach the endgame -- the game will focus instead on steady progression as you visit the content, not stopping to waste your time on a meaningless grind.
