He's been working until he has enough to pay for a semester of school, signing up for classes, and heading back to work when he needs money for the next semester. It's safe to say that this lifestyle doesn't exactly result in much of an expendable income, but awhile back he managed to buy an Xbox 360.
Still, getting himself an HDTV to play it on is kind of out of the question at this point, so he's left to play it on their old SD set. I never really thought much of this until I recently got a PS3.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
It is a good question. I got my 360 before I had an HDTV and had to give up on Dead Rising for the infamous SD text being unreadable issue.
Sure, HDTV penetration is increasing, but I don't see why on Earth, at least for say, the next SEVERAL years, they don't include a standard def option as well. We're not asking for you to reprogram the game - just futz the UI or bump up the font sizes a bit.
Mind you, now that I have my HDTV, it doesn't matter - but I remember what it was like being a "have not" only two years ago.
If he has a HDTV why not just hook it up, also there won't be a problem with 3D since the games also come in a 2D form as well.
I thought I had made it to the big time when I got my PS3 last year. My then 12 year old CRT smelling of fumes and fail. Playing Burnout: Paradise on that device was one of idiocy and clearly contributed to the eventual cataracts I'll have in my 50s.
I have to deal with this crap all the time. For racing and shooter games I have to sit a few feet away from the TV to even stand a chance. Heavy Rain was a pretty big offender of this too: the button next to those floating text options are indistinguishable from each other. That leads to me picking the options that I didn't want to make.
Its bull shit, if ya ask me.
If you don't have HD too bad. Should we lower the speed limits in case somebody still wants to travel by horse and carriage?
