You can’t fault DeathSpank for its presentation. It looks good and sounds good and it’s one of the smoothest gaming experiences you can have. Unfortunately, polish and good intentions can’t save uninspired combat, lackluster local multiplayer and uninteresting items and character progression (20 levels and 6 passive stats to increase). It’s a decent ride, but it ultimately feels hollow.
