How StarCraft Has Changed Gaming

Gaming Union:
"With the release of StarCraft II, there's no doubt that the game will make its mark on the world, it's already positioning itself to shatter a few sales records, but it's hard to imagine that it will ever change things the way the original has. From internet cafes to LAN parties, StarCraft has (and will continue) to shape the way we play games for better or worse. But before we see what direction the sequel takes us, let us take a look back and see how different things are today thanks to Blizzard."

Need to play one of these games one of these days.

Conloles5768d ago

Can't if you have a console!

OpenGL5768d ago

Well, there is Starcraft 64, not that it's worth the $30+ it often fetches on Ebay.

Spenok5767d ago

OpenGl already said it, but there is one on the 64.

Merivigian5768d ago

Looks like a normal RTS game to me.. now GW2.. that's game industry changing.

distorted_reality5768d ago

Sorry, had a Yahtzee moment.

JDouglasGU5768d ago

i have many fond memories of the original starcraft... the king of survival UMS was the shit.

Coramoor_5768d ago

It's too bad that map died somewhere back around 03, Gotta say my Favourite UMS of all time was Diplomacy

Hardedge5768d ago

The original was one heck of a game. I should dig up my copy, wonder if I can still find it.

ThanatosDMC5768d ago

If you do find it, register it on Battle.net so you can have a digital copy too.

Coramoor_5768d ago

There is really no doubt that Blizzard and Starcraft have had far reaching effects on the industry as a whole

Blizzard Wants Faster Diablo Releases and More Expansions

Blizzard reveals plans to speed up Diablo releases with more frequent expansions and updates as the franchise moves toward a live-service future.

QuantumMechanic75d ago

All I want is a physical disc release of remastered D2 that doesn't require online check-ins.

VonAlbrecht75d ago

Ah, more and fast - the antithesis of careful and good

Christopher75d ago (Edited 75d ago )

I've lost complete interest. Too much FOMO with seasons as it is, now it's expansions? No thanks.

Michiel198975d ago

what fomo? everything gets reset each season and you start new characters unless you're playing on the regular servers and then you're already maxxed anway and just need to participate in the new season stuff.

Michiel198974d ago

i played only during launch and i found the ones in that battlepass to be absolute dogwater, the only ones that looked somewhat cool were the paid ones in the store and i wont bother with either. The game itself was just so hollow, there were no cool builds cause every synergy was just "x or y skills does more dmg or has this extra effect" almost no experimentation needed, couldnt give a rats ass about armor if the core of the game is boring af.
