Move is much more promising. And it's used in games we all want to play.

Kinect is used with AMAZING HITS LIKE *bored voice* Kinectimals...Kinect Joy Ride....uhhhh i forget.

I don't care how much Microsoft says that Kinect is a better value when the games for it are total trash.

sorry I just had to lol, I love the move 3 days to go until I try out out, yay!!

-its tech that sony has proven that can be viable for hardcore gaming

-its doing things that we imagined what the wii should of done when it launched and it does it better, like precision and combining the tech with camera based tech (Wii+Kinect=Move)

-will play with over %90 of the genres that we all play (although it should play with all genres, there are some genres that are just meant to be played with a regular controller)

-augmented reality based games

-it will re-invigorate certain genres that was pretty much dead(or asleep) on the playstation platform. (example: wii had good light-gun games, but PS3 owners who dont have a wii, have not been able to play them. Now they have an opportunity to do so.)

-it will also help create new genres as well as make older genres better

Notice how nobody from the 360 side is on here, hence their enjoying their console. All you see on here all day are ps3 fanboys, hence no games to play. I think this website and ps3 fanboys made my choice.

Saving money for FFXIV. I don't plan on getting motion controllers, but if I had to absolutely choose one:

I pick the move.

I can play Eyepet, LPB2, plus party games with youngsters as well as play more standard games like Socom, Killzone, RUSE, etc. In standard game, it actually gives you an advantage over standard analog sticks. Point and shoot people in the head for example.

For children and for myself. 2 bird with one stone, very economical.

Kinect for my Xbox 360 Elite? What am I going to use Kinect for beside flailing around with the children? Kinectimals is basically EyePet, only EyePet have proven to WORK. From countless demonstration, Kinect lags and is impractical. It does not give an advantage in multiplayer mode either, ASSUMING there are even games with online for Kinect. No thanks.

Too early to discuss. So far the the only titles announced for the 360 aren't very interesting to me like Yoga Kinect or Kinectimals. I love the Forza franchise but driving an invisible steering wheel is just plain stupid. So far the Kinect looks to only have wii type games that might be fun for some but normally have simple gameplay and graphics.

Don't know much about Move other than a few videos I seen. So far it's been mostly talk. Resident Evil and Socom and other old titles is supposed to have motion added to it but that remains to be seen if it actually works. It might be some simple tacked on addition. I haven't seen any game on the ps3 or the wii that have motion that amazes me. Heavenly Sword and Killzone 2's motion gameplay was just silly. To me, it just looks like you wave the controller like a fool.

What I am interested is a gun game like Time Crisis with motion where I have to dodge attacks. It's time for this gen to bring a gun game. Or a Ghost Recon game where you give your squad hand commands and they follow. This is what I want from motion.

But I'm not a casual gamer either. I'm sure their is an audience for games like Yoga Kinect or Kinectimals just not me.

if you want to play multiplayer, Move is more expensive. then depending on the games, it can get even more expensive (requiring 2 main controllers for each player).

if you just want to play 'hardcore' games with the best control scheme possible, neither are for you.

if you want to play games in a way thats never been possible before, get Kinect.

if you want to play regular ps3 games with motion control, get Move.

having said all that, for the majority of people on here it simply comes down to 'which console do you own?'. the PS3 fanboys would never get Kinect, the 360 fanboys would never get Move.

i dont care though, im getting both.

As it looks right now I wouldn't spend money on either of them. Although Move has shown more hardcore support in the form of SOCOM and some other games they are both too expensive for what they have to offer. To my gaming preferences that is. What the casuals will think remains to be seen.

@IHateYouFanboys - Exactly! That's the biggest hurdle. You need to buy both the console (360/PS3) and then the peripheral (Kinect/Move). It will be hard to attract buyers outside the existing install base. And half of the people who already own 360's or PS3's probably aren't interested to begin with.

As of right now from what both has to offer, move is the right choice for me. Kinect does not have one game right now im interested in. If microsoft adds games like gears or fable or mass effect with kinect then ill buy it but as of right now all we seen from kinect is shovelware & is not worth my $150.

I know this is contrary to the thinking behind both Sony and Microsoft goign after the casual market, but hear me out...

I don't think motion control is a system seller, it's an add-on - and one that is not mandatory for either system. The early adopters who will really drive the sales numbers will be the people who already own these consoles, i.e. you and me!

The console landscape is not the same as it was before the Wii released! Casuals already have the Wii, and they know how many hours they put into the machine - i.e. not very much! For Move or Kinect to have a succesfull install base, viable for profitable developer support will depend alot more this time around on which hardcore fanbase adopts more of the tech.

From the internet buzz, it is apparent that more PS3 owners are willing to shell out for Move, than 360 owners are for Kinect. This is obviously mainly because there is more hardcore software for the Move than for Kinect. But this is a significant factor for uptake, and more importantly for developer support, for the technology moving forward.

One thing the Wii market has shown over and over again, is that the attach rate for casuals is very low, and despite the millions of hardware untis in circulation, 3rd party developers don't get a return on their investment. On the PS3/360, it's the hardcore that will really drive attach retes, and from this perspective it will be the Move that wins out.

Nobody in their right mind wants Kinect.

Every person I've shown Move to really wants it. Those couples who bought Little Big Planet and played it together will be picking up Move.

I still don't see why anyone would settle for Kinect when they could have Move.

I love the flimsy defenses people have for the Kinect and the idiotic disses that they have for the Move. They think if they call it a dildo, a Wii clone and a Wii HD enough times that their relentless babble will be taken notice of. Move has already spoken for itself. The price is clear, we have seen why it's different from the Wii, it's potential, how it works with other games and the wide variety of games for it. The only defense they have for Kinect is 'it's new and 'casuals' (they actually mean stupid, gullible, uninformed non gamers) will buy it and that means we win. And oh yeah, the Move is a dildo' Then they stick out their tongue and then they run and hide behind their mothers' skirts. Any actual proof that Kinect is better besides paid celebrities, pre recorded footage, bias game sites, unsuccesful promotional events and unproven claims from Microsoft and their cronies? No? Didn't think so.

That definitely would have been the absolute worst time for stick drift to happen...

I always wanted a true to life surgery simulator for PSVR1. I always knew those Move controllers were precise AF under the proper conditions.

Move was a very accurate device under good conditions. Dr Marks even wanted to open it up for hobbyists and developers to extract more data to do more things. I even seen him use it for space, astronaut like simulations.

Sony always had the tech. They just needed the software to go with it. PS Move limit was not having an analog stick. Which it seems the PS5 controller made up for that.

I would like to see them use PS VR 2 for surgery or something with that eye tracking built in.
