Blizzard: Activision hasn’t changed us

With developer relations remaining very much a touchy issue at Activision for the time being, Blizzard Entertainment’s VP and executive MD of internal operations Michael Ryder has told MCV that the merger between former owner Vivendi and Activision hasn’t made any difference to Blizzard’s internal workings.

Haha I don't think Activision has the guts to pull anything on Billzzard.
They are simply the largest/best company they own.
They still generate crazy amount of revenue on their games released YEARS ago.

Christopher5815d ago

Yeah, that would truly be waking up a sleeping giant on Activision's part. They're smart to just sit back and take in the extra dough.

I do wonder about the $60 price tag on StarCraft 2 though, looks like an Activision stunt to me. I just hope they don't nickle and dime Diablo 3 to hell and back with DLC when it finally releases. I could probably look it up, buy why did blizzard ever merge with activision in the first place?

hatchimatchi5815d ago

I wonder too why Blizzard joined with Activision. It's not like they were in the red or something.

?

hatchimatchi5815d ago

Activision would be damn stupid to mess with Blizzard. WOW makes money hand over fist and starcraft 2 is gonna bring in about 70 gajillion dollars from Korea alone, ha.

Darkfiber5815d ago

You're charging $15 more than any other PC game for StarCraft 2, I'd say they changed you.

Blizzard Wants Faster Diablo Releases and More Expansions

Blizzard reveals plans to speed up Diablo releases with more frequent expansions and updates as the franchise moves toward a live-service future.

QuantumMechanic120d ago

All I want is a physical disc release of remastered D2 that doesn't require online check-ins.

VonAlbrecht120d ago

Ah, more and fast - the antithesis of careful and good

Christopher120d ago (Edited 120d ago )

I've lost complete interest. Too much FOMO with seasons as it is, now it's expansions? No thanks.

Michiel1989120d ago

what fomo? everything gets reset each season and you start new characters unless you're playing on the regular servers and then you're already maxxed anway and just need to participate in the new season stuff.

Battle pass exclusives.

Michiel1989119d ago

i played only during launch and i found the ones in that battlepass to be absolute dogwater, the only ones that looked somewhat cool were the paid ones in the store and i wont bother with either. The game itself was just so hollow, there were no cool builds cause every synergy was just "x or y skills does more dmg or has this extra effect" almost no experimentation needed, couldnt give a rats ass about armor if the core of the game is boring af.
