Heavy Rain Move Support Might As Well Be Violin Support

In theory, the PlayStation 3 controller is a complicated mechanism, a device with too many buttons for the average person to understand. In theory, the better control mechanism for interactive drama is a good old remote control you can wave.

Heavy Rain, which is indeed an interactive drama made to be appreciated by regular people who like cop shows and mysteries, will soon support Sony’s Move controller.

I never wanted to use the move to play it. Not sure why people wanted to.

N4GAddict5786d ago

It wouldn't hurt the game IMO

LoVeRSaMa5785d ago

Going to the Playstation Beta Rooms event on Sunday, and will be testing it myself, ill have to let you know if its any good =]

tplarkin75785d ago (Edited 5785d ago )

That's the only explanation for thinking that Heavy Rain is a game, or that it would be improved with motion controls.

Sony fanboys needed a killer ap to defend. They didn't have one, so they have the delusion that Heavy Rain is an interactive "drama".

But, if they take their Sony-fan-goggles off, they would see it is just an interactive "DVD"

RememberThe3575785d ago

It was one hell of an interactive DVD. I really don't see the problem.

DigitalAnalog5785d ago

David Cage said it himself that he doesn't consider it a game. Why you think the Sony fanboys would miss that statement is beyond me.

"Sony fanboys needed a killer ap to defend. They didn't have one"

There is no need to defend killer apps. Every game is trying to compete with them.

Biggest5785d ago

At least get the format correct. DVD is for the cool kids from the '90s.

whothedog5785d ago

What about other developers that praised the game? Are they delusional too?

reaferfore205785d ago

just an interactive "DVD"?

dragon825785d ago

Well, as a GAMER I can assure you it was a fantastic experience no matter what you want classify it as. Maybe you should take off your fanboy goggles and learn to appreciate innovation.

gamerzBEreal175785d ago

xino5786d ago

Then you obviously haven't played a Wii before.

I've always bashed the Wii but never bashed it for it's BUTTONS or complained about it's buttons.

Poseidon5786d ago

that part where "you" the cop drives on the other side of the freeway would be awesome with move

Johnny_Bravo5785d ago

"In theory, the PlayStation 3 controller is a complicated mechanism, a device with too many buttons for the average person to understand."

Don't let this guy near Steel Battalion.

RememberThe3575785d ago

Hell, don't let this guy near a cell phone.

DigitalAnalog5785d ago

"a device with too many buttons for the average person to understand"

From a website called Kotaku. Known for being huge supporters for the 360. So I can safely assume the 360 controller is to be less **cough complicated *cough for the average person to understand.

Or is he implying the 360 controller really is for 10 Y.O kids.

DelbertGrady5785d ago

Well, this article isn't about the 360, it's about Move. So it wouldn't make any sense mentioning the 360 controller, would it?

What I think some of you fail to understand is that the comment is aimed at people who don't play games on a regular basis. To someone who's never held a controller before all the buttons and triggers will take some time getting used to.

djfullshred5785d ago

Some of the default motion controls to Heavy Rain with the sixaxis controller are kind of wierd. I would think they could probably improve on that with a dedicated motion controller like Move.

PlayStation Move Controller Used to Perform Surgery on a Pig That Was 5,780 Miles Away

A group of surgeons made headlines after they managed to perform an endoscopic procedure on a pig located in Hong Kong by using PlayStation controllers. It involved the use of a PS5 DualSense controller as well as a PlayStation Move controller.

jznrpg592d ago

There is at least a few good jokes that could come from that title

Cacabunga591d ago

Yet another powerful device Sony gave up supporting. KZ3 move was one of the best motion controller implementation ever

just_looken590d ago

Right the ps move was awesome i have the gun thing from killzone still.

Relientk77592d ago

That's really cool. It's crazy something like that is possible with gaming controllers 1000's of miles away.

Lexreborn2591d ago

Guess that submarine should’ve used move controllers instead of logitech
