I'm kinda glad. Cole need more sarcastic quips and maybe more of a sense of humor overall, but he didn't need quite such a radical makeover physically.
I hope he gets that bag he carried in the original back.

Must say, I played Infamous but I found Cole to be a completely uninspiring and generally not memorable hero so I really don't understand why there has been such a big outcry about him being changed to be more photogenic.

People complain he looks generic, well guess what his new look was like? The generic teen super hero. Pretty much the sarcastic spiderman "not wanting any trouble" type. That was not cool. Cole was a normal person who had an extraordinary problem thats what made him interesting.

they should make cole look however they want, screw everybody's opinion. just put swappable skins in the game and BAM everyones happy. you could have old cole, new cole, eskimo cole, whatever you wanted. problem solved.

I was interested in InFamous 2 because of the new Cole; why would they (Sucker Punch) listen to the few 100, possibly thousands of fans of the old Cole (one of the most generic characters ever created). Heck why not get rid of Cole all together and bring in Nathan Hale from Resistance! They look almost identical, why not bring him in?

Oh, dear god why!!!??? Why do this? SuckerPunch just gives us the option to make our Hero look how we want him to look. Don't go back to this generic ass dude. I loved the game, for what it was, even the shallow nature of the cityy and how there was nothing else to do in the city. But I hated the character Cole I hated his tacked on Solid Snake wannabe voice over. I hated his outfit and the way he looked. He was just bland and boring.

Let us make our hero look how we want him to look. Problem solved. Also, give us indoor missions. Why restrict everything to the outside? This really made the game feel the same after so long. The sewer missions were a breath of fresh air, believe it or not. And those were all the same.

I liked the cole from the first infamous and I didn't like the look of the new cole in from the E3 trailers.

By no means would that of stopped me from buying the sequel if they'd stuck with the new look, but I just thing the old Cole is pretty cool.

Problem was they changed him so much there was no sense in even calling him Cole anymore. Looks like someone at SuckerPunch finally got around to playing the dreadlock Bionic Commando & realised that some skins are better left un-Poochied. Rasta brah, one love!

But seriously. New Cole killed continuity. Changing a shirt ain't the same as cranial plastic surgery, regressive puberty and an attitude transplant. That's harder to suspend disbelief over than his superpowers, lol. When a sequel is a year out & is already alienating the fanbase, it's just not worth it. Ask Max Payne.

They are freakin' geniuses. They have yet to make a bad game and they actually listen to their fans and do something about it. They wanted cole to look like that fag in the first game but couldn't for some reason. They would rather please us than do what they want. I just hope it's the same voice actor as the first game.

I'm glad they're changing his looker closer to the original. It's like changing mario's colour pallet permanently to Yellow and red instead of Red and blue. Such a horrid idea.

i thought old cole was boring and his voice actor was awful. I thought new cole looked like a "metrosexual" very cliche tight shirts for his biceps, tattoos, nice hair and the character voice seemed good. i guess it's a good change, take the new character and rough him up a bit, make him look more like a normal guy who's having a bad day. Messy uncut hair, jeans and a ripped/dirty T and an unshaved look.

Don't really care which "Cole" they use as long as the gameplay is awesome BUT if I had to choose the original Cole is just that. "Original"

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
