No. It looked cool in theory in 2009. It looked lame in actuality in 2010. Laggy, lame games and the only difference between the wii, move and Kinect is that Kinect doesn't make you need a controller to waggle. I bought a Wii, I sold it, I don't like motion based games, it's a pain in the ass. Joysticks ftw.

It's like someone said in another post Kinect is running a sprint while Move is running a marathon. Kinect seem to be made only attract people to the 360 and nothing else. Like the evil guy said in Robocop about ED209 'It will make us millions. Who cares if it works?'The Move seems to be in for the long haul with game intergration, titles for both hardcore and casual going into next year and tech demos showing the wide potential for the Move. All Microsoft has really done is make promises, showcase the limitation of their games and reveal their inexperience with catering to casuals. The Kinect may have the WOW factor that will cause non gamers and naive people to run and buy it first, but Move has the high potential,reliability and durability that will make it last longer than the very limited potential of Kinect. Kinect might have been better with a few more years of research and development but as it stands it barely can compete with either Move or a Wii.Fanboy or not anyone with eyes can see that.

There are good reasons why the eyetoy failed, and whyn the PSeye does not have a massive install base. Sony have learned this lesson the hard way. Saying Kinect is a 3D camera is a moot point because the user interface is still the same as the eyetoy.

Why did eyetoy fail... lack of compelling games? lack of developer support? lack of (hardcore) gamer support? Whatever you might think, Kinect has not addressed these issues, and Microsoft seems to be making the same mistake Sony made last gen. Will clever smoke and mirrors marketing be enough to turn the tide? Only time will tell.

The bottom line however is that if the hardcore 360 gamer is alienated, Kinect will not succeed in the long run the entry fee for the casual gamer is simply too steep. The hardcore 360 gamer would purchase it IF it has hardcore games on offer. Would anyone reallty pay $150 just to wave at their 360 dashboard... really. More money than sense if you ask me!

i would like Kinect and PS move to fail, not because i hating, but because i fear the shovel-ware and the influx of stupid novelty accessories that may flood the 360/ PS3 markets. waggle controls may win in the short interim but i just can't see the hardcore completely adopting it. but if it does, then i'll bite.

GaMe01 you do realize that at that price you still have to buy a game which brings it back to basically the same price that Kinect is with a game bundled. thrust it's amazing how short fanboys memories are have you forgotten it was Sony who was stomping on Nintendo and Microsoft's consoles not too long ago. Now Sony is a little behind you are getting cocky. Sony is hot on Microsoft's heels and Microsoft can't catch Nintendo. You also forget that Move is going first and can steal many casuals and non gamers before Kinect can. Plus two potential system sellers GT5 and LBP2 are coming out before the Kinect and can sell millions of units. It's amazing how people like you think like children and think Sony with settle for third place forever. Even if they don't move up in this generation there is still another one after this. Sony next console could still destroy Nintendo and Microsoft like their first few consoles did.

Yeah Kinect sold me to invest in a ps3 and give my money to a console developer who actually cares about it's gamers.. will I buy move? Maybe depending on how I like socom.

At this point in time, no. The games for Kinect right now do not interest me in the slightest, and the tech is, to me, underdeveloped. Maybe once the technology is more developed and there are better games, I will consider it. But right now, no.

I have zero interest in picking up Kinect at this time. MS has to show me more than some extreme casual (shovelware) games before I spend $150 on a motion camera. I don't see this device being used for anything other than casual games this generation. Personally I like having a controller in my hand so MS would really have to wow me in the future to change my mind about using my body as a controller. <-- I don't see this happening any time soon.

I'll buy Kinect when there's a game I want which is best played with it.

No add-on in the history of gaming has amounted to much when pitted next to the system or base that it's for. From NES R.O.B and Segas Activator to Sonys EyeToy and 360s HD-DVD drive. They just don't make it. That being said, I will not buy Move. The reason why the Wiimote is where it is in terms of gaming is because it IS the controller for the Wii. When developers make a game for the Wii they don't have to worry about losing money due to lack of there being a Wiimote in every box sold. So they can create their game from the ground up with motion sensing in mind. Now the other side of this coin is Move/Kinect...there's going to be two types of gamers regarding these, those that have it, and those who don't. So regardless of how it looks on paper, regardless of how theoretically you can play your game with it, regardless of the marketing behind it, unless it is the standard from system launch date and EVERY game released utilizes the tech then it won't hold a candle to the way people were playing their games previously on the system. Action heavy games (MGS, DMC, Res-Evil, Street Fighter, Assassin's Creed, GTA, Splinter Cell etc...) all map different actions to different buttons and rely on you as the gamer to post up in such a way in game to take out the NPCs. These games and others like it are the TOP selling types of games. I'm not alone in saying that I don't want my character being moved for me so that I can aim and shoot or hack and slash because then all we're left with is Time Crisis. Not taking anything away from TC (I own it myself) but it does not and will not hold a candle to the game types I mentioned previously. I only see this working in driving games, party games or the games you might find walking into an arcade today. And I know what a barren wasteland that is.

i'll probably get one because i'm not an enemy of fun. i can't lie, i'm sure i'll have a blast playing it with my gf because it's a different experience. i have no interest in spending $100+ just to play the same kind of shooting games that already work just fine with a controller.

xbox live gold hasn't sold me even though most my friends says it's so good. i don't think it's any better than the free psn. if i want motion games i'll buy wii games which i have not in a long while. new super mario was the last game i bought for the wii. Kinect is just a no for any reason what so ever.

Its not even out yet, plus I don't trust media outlets, most of them are fanboys just like n4g users...if ur on n4g then most likely your a fanboy of your console, which means you most likely play hardcore games, that's cool but mostly every comment made here is negative, sad, I own all 3 systems, not wrong with being an allaround player, I like the fact that kinect can be used w the dashboard, but I like move too, I'm interested in seeing what kinect do when my hands get on it, also move price is good, so I might get both!

if you see VIDEO GAMES as an investment, youre doing it wrong. video games are something that you should be playing for fun. theyre electronic toys.

i will buy Kinect on launch, just like ill probably pick up Move at its launch. why? because i love video games, and hell, i have a lot of disposable income that i love to spend on video games. even if i never buy a single kinect game, the motion/voice control for media is enough to sell it to me.

Yes its more casual games, but i see it as the xbox has the controller for the hardcore games and kinect for the casual games.. you see now u get the best of both worlds.and i think once developers really spend some time with kinect you will get some pretty good games, casual and core..

Kinect is the biggest waste of $150 I have ever seen and no, I will not be getting one. Not a single game on it looks even remotely moderately good and it is not possible to make it useful with core games do to the lack of BUTTONS. So...why would I want one?

The only game that may end up being interesting is the Star Wars game, but unfortunately it's missing a massive chunk of the fun that involves HOLDING SOMETHING IN YOUR HAND TO PRETEND YOU ARE SWINGING A LIGHTSABER. So yeah...thanks Microsoft for this disaster known as Kinect. It will be rememberred fondly along with the Virtua Boy.

No because its not very appealing to me. I am picking move because it is like the wii. It is more familiar to the present day life I live. Plus, its a HD console with the camera add on. So its like kinect a little to. I get the best of both worlds.

They all are motion controllers, you look stupid playing all of them even with sony you still have to wave your hands to play just because its Sony doesn't make you look any better,they all have operation limitions and failures during game play and will.I do not put one over the other, at this point it depends on what you are looking for and what system you already own.people can on forever downing all systems, Sony can do this, MS can do that or what ever.This is all BS because I know your are going to buy what ever you want no matter what other people think or say and thats all that really matters.

I always wanted a true to life surgery simulator for PSVR1. I always knew those Move controllers were precise AF under the proper conditions.

Move was a very accurate device under good conditions. Dr Marks even wanted to open it up for hobbyists and developers to extract more data to do more things. I even seen him use it for space, astronaut like simulations.

Sony always had the tech. They just needed the software to go with it. PS Move limit was not having an analog stick. Which it seems the PS5 controller made up for that.

I would like to see them use PS VR 2 for surgery or something with that eye tracking built in.
