If it did come out, especially in Aus, I hope they dont cut down from the gore like they did with 2. Turned out crap.

Kakihara5696d ago

Beautiful, just beautiful.

Conloles5696d ago

Hell yeah cant wait gonna pwn on PC

RedDead5696d ago

Skipped L4D2 because it was just new levels and weapons. It really was an Expansion. Might get this though if they do something new. L4D 1 is amazingly fun

talltony5696d ago (Edited 5696d ago )

Thats why this one is taking longer to come out. it wont come in 2010. But seriously how much more left 4 dead can we take? seriously!

newhumanbreed5696d ago (Edited 5696d ago )

You're missing out on a great game then. L4D2 is not an expansion, it's way better than the first. Melee weapons, new special infected, uncommon common infected. Just so much new things that makes the game really good. I suggest you pick it up before making assumptions.

Theonetheonly5696d ago

valve would work on halflife and get that over with.
its only been like 100000000000 years.

RockmanII75695d ago

You guys are silly, this story was written in November of Last year

"cut down from the gore"

What are you talking about? I am a Left4Dead fan, and I loved both the first and the second games and I didn't notice any "cut" of the gore on the second. If anything the second game WAS gorier, you could chop down zombies with a Katana for f***s sake. Or maim them with a chainsaw...

Studio-YaMi5696d ago

I guess the dude means the version that was sold in Australia

xTruthx5696d ago

IMO, If portal is coming to PS3 y wouldn't this one come too ? Their both from valve

N4PS3Fanboys5696d ago

No. The first Portal was also on the PS3 in The Orange Box, and both Left 4 Dead games came out after that exclusive to Microsoft.

NeutralGamer5696d ago (Edited 5696d ago )

Do you live in Australia/Austria??

He said "If it did come out, especially in Aus, I hope they dont cut down from the gore"

Australia have a strong censoring policy... But I'm not sure if he ment Austria or Australia...

Chimerhazzard5696d ago (Edited 5696d ago )

Thanks for the clarification. I am aware that games are heavily censored in Australia, but I failed to realise that was what he meant. Bubbles for you both :)

Well that makes me kinda glad not to live in Australia... too bad for you Australian gamers :(

NeutralGamer5696d ago (Edited 5696d ago )

Bubbles for you too for realizing it :D

Unless other ignorant bastards on the internet xD

MariaHelFutura5696d ago

It could throw off the time frame if they were gonna make some massive adjustment/upgrades.

Johnny_Bravo5696d ago

Nope, if it was going to come out this year it would have already been announced. Maybe summer of 2011, if not then most defiantly November 2011.

xX TriiCKy Xx5696d ago

I agree. There's no way they can release a game in this year without some kind of announcement. Unless Valve is making stupid moves and is trying to "surprise" us with a release and no announcement.

ProjectVulcan5696d ago

It shouldnt be allowed out until the Half life episode trilogy is completed.

callahan095696d ago

I love Left 4 Dead. It's one of my go-to games right now. Play it all the time with friends. For some reason, I just don't really like Left 4 Dead 2, though. I feel like all of the additions they put in just sort of detract from the experience more than they benefit. I guess I just feel like Left 4 Dead is a pure, distilled experience, and then when they added the new specials, uncommons, weapons, items, mechanics, etc. to the sequel it kind of bloated the thing and a lot of didn't really feel like it fit. It was a great game in its own right, but I just keep finding myself going back to the original. I played through each campaign of L4D2 a couple of times but then started to feel like I missed the purity of the first game and never looked back. I don't know if I can really explain it. I just hope that Left 4 Dead 3 captures the experience the way the first game did and doesn't bog itself down. I'm not explaining this well. Oh well. Even if L4D3 feels more like L4D2 than 1, I would still appreciate some new campaigns to play through. I just wish the mechanics would be the simple, pure setup of the first game, just with new maps to play on.

blue7xx75696d ago (Edited 5696d ago )

I agree 100 percent the second one wasn't as good as the first L4D. Just all the new things Valve added kinda ruined it for me. like melee weapons, the new special infected, and just the new maps where not as good as the first L4D1 maps and the community. The L4D1 community was one of the best always talked and used teamwork in L4D2 more people are starting to talk but not as many like in L4D1 also most people don't use teamwork in L4D2 that's why I also still play L4D1 and think it's way better than the second.

One thing that bothers me also is the new menu interface when you wanna play scavenger mode or versus mode you have to chose what maps to play as oppose to in L4D 1 if you just wanted to play you would just go into a lobby and the game would chose a random map people didn't care about having a custom match people just wanted to play. I don't know how to explain it properly but basically in L4D2 there are a lot of maps that don't get played because of the way Valve made the menu interface. Anyways I don't want L4D3 anytime soon hopefully if it does get made they go back to how L4D1 was if it is anything like L4D2 I will most likely skip it.

Emmettcelticfan5696d ago

i doubt it or i think it would have been announced already. Now a PS3 version of the both left for dead 1 and 2 on one blu ray would be grand. Come on valve you have a potentially large customer base on PS3. I would without a doubt buy left for dead 1 and 2 on my PS3 despite gabe newel's bullsh1t over the past few years

TrevorPhillips5696d ago

I hope so too bro.

I want it on PS3.

Report: Left 4 Dead 3 Reference Spotted in Counter-Strike 2 Files

A Left 4 Dead 3 reference was spotted in the files of the Counter-Strike 2 closed beta, suggesting that the title may finally be in development.

ZycoFox1067d ago

Not the first time it's been referenced. Valve said years ago that it wasn't in development, but of course things change. L4D3 was supposedly almost finished at one point but development stopped because Source 2 was still incomplete.

Most of the time you get people saying a third game isn't needed as there's nothing to improve upon anyways, which is complete nonsense. I have to wonder if those that say such things have junk computers or something. Why they'd want to keep playing the same repetitive thing over and over is beyond me.

ElendilsSorrow1066d ago

I'm honestly curious too as to whether the entry in the code means something or not, considering April 1's only a couple days away, and Valve knows people are datamining for this stuff now. But at the same time, the CS2 driver update entry meant nothing too, until it suddenly did. No telling with GabeN and co. really.

-Foxtrot1066d ago

I do hope Zoe, Francis and Louis come back

cammers19951065d ago

Based on the last two games, it'll likely be four new survivors but past will cameo.

-Foxtrot1065d ago

I guess, but I can dream

I just think they were did dirty with the lack of support or content that game got compared to what was promised...them BOOM, L4D2 was announced months later

JEECE1066d ago

That would be nice, B4B was such disappointing trash.

JEECE1065d ago (Edited 1065d ago )

Tons of reasons, but I'll just mention a few.
1) L4D2 feels like a PC shooter in terms of aim speed, movement speed, etc. Even when playing on PC, B4B evidently feels like a slower experience designed for console first. Obviously this is nice for console players, but L4D is a pc-focused series, so if you market your game as a successor, I expect it to feel like it's designed for PC.
2) The AI of the standard zombies (or whatever you call them) is lower. Again, this feels like a compensation for console players.
3) The special enemies on L4D2 are a lot more varied and interesting; in B4B they are just kind of big things you shoot a lot.
4) The world in L4D2 feels more real (not factual but real in the context of the game). When hordes rush you, it feels like they are coming from a specific direction in the distance. In B4B they just spawn in a monster closet in the building beside you. Similarly the special enemies in L4D2 feel like they are in the world, while in B4B they just literally materialize near you. Like there's nothing in B4B that matches taking on a witch that's in your path; the big "moments" in that game are usually just some super generic big thing materializing near you.
5) B4B added basically every bad component of modern multiplayer games geared toward casuals. There's an unnecessary hub world, an unnecessary loot system, an unnecessary operater/hero system where you pick a character with abilities and you level those through cards you buy with loot, and upgrade skins, etc. What makes L4D2 great is that it's a great co-op experience that doesn't have a ton of unnecessary tacked on RPG lite live service features as barriers to fun with friends; as soon as I started playing B4B I had a friend telling me I needed to focus on a specific hero and level them with certain cards. If I want that crap I'd play Destiny 2.

Demetrius1066d ago

If they do comeback with this series don’t force no strictly online bs to us mane

Michiel19891066d ago

won't be an issue for me since I never liked playing with bots in L4D2, but I still agree

Valve Elaborates On Early Left 4 Dead 3 Rumors, Portal VR Ideas

Valve's Robin Walker elaborates on the rumored Left 4 Dead 3, Portal VR, and a whole lot more in this month's IGN Unfiltered.

-Foxtrot2167d ago

If they are going to do more VR stuff, I prey it's not exclusive stuff

No one wants VR exclusive Portal, L4D stuff, give us the option and let everyone play, especially with how long we've all been waiting for new instalments to these games.

Fishy Fingers2167d ago (Edited 2167d ago )

Whats exclusive about Alyx? Its supports all the PC VR headsets. I'm sure if PS4 was capable, you'd see it there too. Shouldnt be an issue with next gen coming.

-Foxtrot2166d ago

I just want a standard version I can play with a controller

With REVII you had the option it was built up for both standard play and VR

porkChop2166d ago

It's exclusive to VR, which is niche. That's pretty exclusive. A lot of people just don't have any interest in VR.

xTonyMontana2166d ago

@Foxtrot Playing with a controller would defeat the purpose of this game. I hope it comes to PS5 though, it's amazing and it's the system/peripheral seller VR needs to go mainstream.

xenz2166d ago

Valve makes their own vr hw, and somehow you expect them to release a non-vr fps game after the success of Alyx? They want to evolve vr.. ofc its gonna be only VR

2166d ago
--bienio--2166d ago

Hahah not long ago PlayStation fanboys crying about HDZ coming to Pc and Now this? Hypocrites!!

pwnmaster30002166d ago

Which PS4 fanboy is crying? I don’t see no crying lol.

If your talking about fox, he said no exclusive VR.

SamPao2166d ago

yeah man. you need to realise that a very small amount of people do not represent the ps community as a whole. same for every community

BlackIceJoe2167d ago

I'd like to see a new Counter Strike, that has a story mode and is inspired by SOCOM or SWAT. The world could use more tactical shooters and Valve could do a phenomenal job with this series, if they take it in this direction.

xenz2166d ago

I love SP shooters, but CS is not made for SP. Why waste resources on something the userbase wont play?

xTonyMontana2166d ago

I would play the SP and I played 1.6 religiously back in the day. Granted it would be a single play through and all my time would be going into the MP, I'd still be very interested in a single player VR game.

battlegrog2166d ago

That would be amazing bit un likely to ever happen

Knightofelemia2166d ago

I just want L4D3 they popped out L4D2 pretty fast after the first game and now they are dragging their feet. I know L4D3 would be a day one for me the series is my favorite shooter and I don't like many shooters.

porkChop2166d ago

I just hope that when we do get another L4D it feels like a proper sequel. As good as L4D2 was, it just felt like DLC. And considering it was developed and released within 9 months, it pretty much *was* DLC.

FlyingFoxy2166d ago

Agreed, i would say L4D2 itself pretty much could've been DLC.. though i will say that the new stuff they added made a big difference to longevity, the extra special infected were much needed. It got boring fighting smokers, boomers and hunters over and over, the spitter, charger and jockey were good additions.. though the jockey is a right PITA as it seems to teleport jump and latch onto your head at times.

After playing tons of L4D2 i could already see where they could improve the game to almost no end, for example there's signs in the swamps saying do not feed the gators, but no gators.. there could be more weapons, weather effects, day/night cycles, extra shortcuts, more randomisation of item/enemy placement, extra escape routes, few new types of special infected.. i could go on. But more additions = more replayability, i think you get the picture.

At least there's Back 4 Blood from Turtle Rock while we wait for a possible new L4D, and they're already doing motion capture for it, so hope we get to see stuff about it soon. Just hope it's got the L4D vibe.

xTonyMontana2166d ago

Portal VR? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

AK912166d ago

I don't think Portal VR is a good idea considering what you do in those game I'm pretty sure I'd be puking all over the place.

porkChop2166d ago

I think it could potentially work, but it would need to be without the momentum-based puzzles. The fast speed would probably make people sick. Or they could go back to the original Portal 2 concept of using time travel instead of portals.

AK912166d ago

Hmm hadn't thought of it that way, if it was done without moving all across the map and changing directions constantly I think it could work.

Left 4 Dead 3 Is 'Absolutely' Not Currently in the Works, Valve Says

Valve says Left 4 Dead 3 is absolutely not in development at the studio, despite recent rumors.

Knightofelemia2232d ago

Well that just sucks I would have bought L4D3 day one

ABizzel12232d ago

Trash Management going on over there -_-

I just want my trilogies -_-

DeadlyFire2231d ago

Back4blood is Left 4Dead 3 basically

theshredded2232d ago

Well that makes me dislike HTC even more.

2232d ago
Blu3_Berry2232d ago

That's pretty lame. I don't get why it's so hard for them to make games again.

Fritzwochel2232d ago

They make F2P gacha card & mobile games. By using psychiologically exploiting methods, they generate more revenue with less investment.

Ausbo2232d ago

Valve needs to actually make games. Half life alyx is a start, but there needs to be something other than VR and dota.

I’m not happy they sucked in campo santo and now have them doing their bidding.

Chaos_Order2232d ago

So you're saying there's a chance? ;)
