Looking forward to this, have it pre-ordered and everything. Really wish I could have gotten into the beta though. I've been playing FFXI for years and can't wait to try this one out.

They give pc gamers console ports for the last few years so hardly anyone but the pc enthusiast had to upgrade anything and now bring out an mmo with higher than crysis system specs and expect it to sell alot?

They must be out of their minds. I havent upgraded my pc for 3-4 years as i can run every single port on my aging 8800 GTS on high.

Now if developers had made games to each platforms strengths we wouldnt be completely shocked by these system specs for a mmo.

The 460...looks like a perfect opportunity for me to get a 5870.

got like a 2700 or 2800 and change... but it played smooth and never skipped a frame.

I got a score of 5025 with all sorts of junk running in the background on dual screen setup, so I'm sure I can squeeze a little more out of it.

Only saw a couple of very brief dips below 60fps, so I guess I'm all set for a decent experience?

If you can score a 2500+ on the benchmark you'll be able to run the game on default settings. I have a Quad Core 2.6,4GB ram,8800GT Superclocked Edition,Windows 7 64-bit and I'm getting 3100. Also it helps a lot if you set your desktop to "Classic" and have it turn off aero. Also if you go to system properties, performance and set it to "adjust for best performance". Your desktop will look ugly but your score will jump up a lot.

My specs are far below those and I can run the beta on the highest settings.

Awesome, I meet all of these requirements for the recommended settings. Hopefully it's as beautiful as these requirements would have you believe.

Any idea if this will run the final product because im getting 4200 in benchmark with alot of programs going on in the backgroud???

Man there is no way. That game looks like crap. It barely looks better than FF11. Besides, they already released system specs and they were like half that. Why are they suddenly double what they used to be?

lol looks like i'll have to finally upgrade my graphics card after 3 years of not getting a new one. now i don't have an excuse to upgrade lol! thanks square-enix!

They are pulling a SOE with EQ2, which is not a good thing. When EQ2 first released it had ungodly system specs, then WoW released a week later, well we all know how that turned out. However if I want to play that game with all the bells and whistles then I will upgrade, but my system specs currently are very close to the recommended.

I feel slightly suspecious about this , hmmm. They even wrote SDD instead of SSD. what do you think ?

I am a mmo player my self and most of the people who play mmos can barely even reach the minimum requirements. The people playing WoW etc. are on 512mb to 3Gb of ram. Thats based on the players I've met online with the exception of the very few that has 4gb and quad core with high end gpus since mmos generally require a low end pc to play.

Yay for having a strong rig. I'll be happily enjoying this on Full settings. xD
