Funny this game is comming to 360, and with the year or more of extra dev time it will probly be better on 360, not only that they can talk about coop, but i bet halo 3's will be better:)...

This will be a must buy on the PS3 but don't get me wrong it will not take anything from Halo 3. I am getting Halo 3 also. When I first saw this game months ago I posted that this is the PS3 version of Halo with a different story, but the enemies have the special suits. Either way everyone with a PS3 should get it because Free Radical put alot into this game and it is going to be awesome. I here that they are going to advertise the hell out of this game before it comes out and there will be a sequel. Damn the PS3 has like 4 Halo's when you think about it. Resistance is 1, Killzone is 2, HAZE is 3, and MGS 4. This game will not put a dent in Halo 3 sells but I think the sells for this game are going to surprise alot of people.

If something is claimed a Halo killer it will most likely set itself up for failure. The sole reason being that the fanbase is huge and growing. The preorders are a solid indication.

I don't see why Haze will be a "Halo-killer." Unless you have both systems you're not going to have a hard time picking out which game you want. Even then I'm sure most people would get both.

I think that Halo 2 should have killed a little of Halo 3's hype, but I guess I'm probably in the minority that thinks the sequel was a little bit disappointing. Having been wowed by a great console FPS experience (Halo 1), I guess I just over-hyped the series in my head (Halo 2). This time around, I've buffered myself with Half life 2 and have kept my mind off of the Halo media hype as much as possible. Hopefully, that should do the trick.

Im not saying halo 3's not going to be a great game, (wich it is... even though im not getting it because im a sony fan)and a classic. But like all of the other halos it will get old after a while and people wont play it as much. I agree that nothing can be a halo 3 "killer" because of all of the hype its predicesors have built, but remember one thing... after this one comes out there will be no more need for a halo killer because there will be no more halos. Haze is looking great and it is a posiblity that in the near future its futher insallments might be the games to beat... but for now instead of trying to put other games and developers down, just enjoy haze for the great game it's going to be.

can't we play Haze and Halo. Think about it like this if Halo3 boost the install base of the 360 this will help Haze when it drops. Well unless it is a PS3 only game. I may get Haze but it sure as hell won't stop me from getting Halo 3. Who the F does ubi think they are. Shooters are not like sports games. I can play 5 different shooters at a time but I can only handle one football game at a time.

It grows over time and becomes stronger but when the franchise ends or jedi dies the force/hype is released to replenish into a pool where it can be used again by someone else. The pool being a fanbase. Sorry for the Analogy of Star Wars but I thought it might help the nerdy people out there understand the flow of hype in the industry.

What people are basiclly saying is we have a movie/game we think can replace Starwars/Halo.

I doubt Haze has group AI and different types of enemies that cause the players to adjust their thinking won't even mention all the new recording features and the new Vehicel intergration gameplay added to Halo 3 etc, whoops!.

The problem isn't that Haze could be a good game its the involvment of Halo every time Haze is marketed/hyped/mentioned when its a new IP.

TimeShift looks much more intresting than Haze i won't be picking up Haze when it launches for the 360. It just feels cheap with no history and needs to prove itself.

Mentioning Haze with Halo can and will hurt Haze causing people to critizise it beyond belief without giving it a fair shake.

Haze nor Killzone will not replace halo Too many FPS's are coming out to even consider it.

Fansy visuals and moronic hyping of games isn't what built the Halo impire the fun factor and the Epic sense of feeling like (you the player) felt in the Movie style plot/story-line was and then people noticed the online Multi-player was off the hook.

Games like TimeShift and Huxely will be considered more Next-gen.

Huxely Online battles where players take things back and forth from Single player and Multi player with armies of people on one side etc etc etc. You'll be hearing about Huxely soon Halo, Haze and Killzone will soon after look like DOOM.

The real reason I can't get excited about Haze is that they have given the main story away already, its like playing Halo 1 while knowing that those rings are supposed to destroy all sentient life in the galaxy(maybe you knew it and thats why it wasn't that exciting to you). The only reason to play it now is to know how it ends and that sucks badly. Look at Halo previews, there is still a lot of motivation to play single player even after knowing the bizarre news that Master Chief may end up dead. Crysis, you know its North Koreans and then aliens on a meteorite but no more than that(like why, what are they after and so on). Same with Mass Effect, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted and list goes on.

It is just like halo and the previous two games were great and it seems halo 3 will be even better impressive. However since it another generation of consoles i suspose it time for a new breed of shoot em to come forward and challenge the master chief for the king of shooters.

Haze looks quality and since is done by the people who did goldeneye the father of all shooters i am sure this game will give halo a good fight this year without a doubt. So if you keep on babbling oh halo well this year things are different especially with call of duty 4 comiing too with UT3 that will kick ass this year too and the way it seems here in europe is that everyone will be after a PS3 this christmas. I agree with blackjack. Their is no Halo Killer, nothing this holiday season will beat it and after this it's all done. I hate how Halo is so big that everyone is like "this will kill Halo" seriously who gives a fu*k? Halo is good in it's own respective rights. It will do what it does and the others will do what they do, why is it always a competition. The one thing Halo has over other games is a thing I like to call quality. Bungie makes sure their games are of the highest quality, something massive studios don't always do.

No one's saying that it wasn't. But citing that the HAlo series has sold like 10 million copies doesn't mean that another game isn't going to out-do it (in fact, there's a Lot of FPS titles that are superior). It's not about how many units a developer sells, so much as how much they accomplish. EA sells more units than any developer in the world, yet we all know how 'high' their quality is.

The fact that Haze can do 4-player co-op Offline and Halo can't is very important since it's akin to Motorstorm having online multiplayer, yet lacking offline multiplayer. These decisions are usually decided on due to technical issues, so it's not like we're holding this against Bungie. It's just important to give credit where credit is due.

so i went to reserve my copy of halo 3 at my local gamestop and i asked the guy how many reservations for this game do you guys have, he said that at this location, which is one of the smallest one around the area, over 200...

Halo 3 will be alright.(I was just really disappointed with H2) even so I still played multiplayer a lot. Hell we had weekly Halo-nights where we had the best players in town all playing in one area. But I'm more excited for KZ2 and Haze. Maybe just because it's something new.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
