Final Fantasy VII with a nearly uncontested victory!

Sev5831d ago

I personally would rather see a remake of the FFIII (American Version). You know, the one with Kefka? He's the baddest ass of a villain gaming has ever witnessed.

He ACTUALLY ended the world.

Sephiroth was a child compared to Kefka.

ps3gamerkyle5831d ago

For sure.

I'm not a huge fan of remakes, but a FFVII remake would be awesome!

blitz06235831d ago

I disagree. As much more evil Kefka was, Sephiroth will still cut him to pieces

Dragun6195831d ago

I would like a Final Fantasy 7 remake. I mean who doesn't after seeing that tech demo on PS3 at E3 2006.
The idea is that they can now create a complete Final Fantasy VII game tying in with it's prequels and sequels it has spin off into.

Final Fantasy VII Remake would include everything from
Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VII
Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII
to ending it with Final Fantasy VII Advent Children.

All with Final Fantasy XIII Versus graphics.

EvilBlackCat5831d ago

A FF7 remake in a traditional Japanes RPG Style is just simply stupid.

FF7 remake should be OPEN WORLD

If you create or make a remake of an rpg and dont take note on what Elder Scroll and Mass Effect have accomplished you are a fool.

Bereaver5830d ago

Wait, this is 5 requested PLAYSTATION remakes, not super nintendo remakes.

Anyway, doesn't matter how evil kefka was, sephiroth kills your most relied on and best healer out of no where.

Anyone who sais that Sephiroth couldn't kill kefka hasn't played crisis core.

phantomexe5830d ago

Same here man i loved ff7 but i'd give my right nut for a ff6 aka 3 in the US remake.

Legosz5830d ago

Agreed. FFIII was amazing and the cast of characters was unforgettable. Kefka was insane and a 3d remake of him with a voice actor would be awesome! Too bad Heath Ledger no longer lives. R.I.P.

I want War of the Monsters 2.

Baltis5831d ago (Edited 5831d ago )

You mean one that doesn't look and play like complete frog feces?

And all these people who know the characters and story arcs for Final Fantasy games should be given medals. It's one thing to like the series but it's a completely different thing to actually make it to the end of one of the many yawn fest in the series. How did you all do it? How did you take a turn, I take a turn, tedious gameplay keep you glued to the screen? I just can't see it.

(Edit to the ultra cool guy below me)

Pretty absurd thing you just said.

Joule5831d ago

I see you trollin' they hatin, partolin and n4g police gonna catch you ridin dirty.

Willio5831d ago

Vagrant Story, no one seems to remember this title.

Jaces5831d ago

I think FFVI would be a fantastic remake, even heard it surpassed VII but I've yet to play VI so I can't really say for sure.

It's a shame SoTC didn't come out just a bit later after the PS3 released, now that would have been SOMETHING to see in HD! Still though I'm hopeful for some type of sequel or remake.

Legend of Dragoon was amazing...from what I remember, pissed me off after I found I had lost the last disc so I never beat the game. DX<

Personally I think remakes of deserving titles would be awesome...just as long as they don't charge full price =P

AntoineDcoolette5830d ago

We seriously need Blood Omen and Soul Reaver remakes with modern graphical tech.

ChickeyCantor5830d ago

FFIX > FFVII

I rather see a FF9 remake.

DeadIIIRed5830d ago

I'm for a FFVII remake so long as they don't make Cloud sound like a little girl (i.e. Van from FFXII), they keep but remaster the original soundtrack, and they don't turn Cait Sith into Jar Jar Binks.

jeseth5830d ago

Even the way he looks in Advent Children is a little on the fem side. I know, understand, and respect Japanese Anime but Sephiroth maintained his badass-ness in Advent Children while Cloud looks like a Harajuku Girl !!!

FFVII remake would be amazing. Still arguably the greatest story ever told in one game.

I love how gamers love to live, dwell, dream and breath in the past. Everything comes back to remakes or ideas used a million times over.

Common things you'll hear a gamer say

"Man, why won't they make a FF7 remake exclusive for the Ps3?"

"I'd play the next Resident Evil if it had zombies and was in a mansion or city. And if it was exclusive to Ps3"

"When are they going to remake Killer Instinct................... For Ps3?"

"I wish they'd remake Sonic the hedgehog and keep him 2-d. Did I forget to mention I wanted it exclusively on the Ps3"

Gamers "rolls eyes"

Cevapi885831d ago

damn....didnt know that gamers only had ps3's.....weird

TheTeam065831d ago

PlayStation is the second-oldest console brand that's still alive and kicking today. It's only natural for some of the fans to want some nostalgia to kick in. Nintendo does it all the time and the fans love it.

Do you only have negative things to say because you're personally a very dark, disturbed person or do you just hate people who like PlayStation? I'm thinking it's both.

Nate-Dog5830d ago

People usually ask for remakes because the games they love haven't aged well. You look at the likes of MGS4 on this current-gen and then look at MGS(1). I will always rate MGS1 as my favourite MGS game despite how poor the graphics are, how simple the battles are (think about it) and how little the gameplay allows you to do, because the game is a masterpiece as it is.

Now I don't see any need for a game like that to be remade because it has aged well in my eyes and is great as it is. It was already remade just a few years after its original release and look at how that turned out. But I can see why people want certain games like MGS to be remade.

jeseth5830d ago

Every Nintendo fan in the world that has been playing the same franchises since the mid-80's are what?

Get over yourself man.

get over ff7 already, move on with your friggin life. it's been what, 13 years? get over it!

Lifewish5831d ago

ill take me some Dragoon thank you very much

Godmars2905831d ago

Only ever been the one game on the PS1.

TANUKI5831d ago

@ Lifewish

I agree. All that goodness on one blu-ray disc... with revamped CGI cutscenes, improved inventory system + trophies? *drools*

Godmars2905831d ago

And you idea I openly object to since no JRPGs has proven itself on BR. They're just PS2 games with better textures.

TANUKI5830d ago

@ Godmars

Well, there is a vocal community out there that is saying we PS3 users are paying for games we already paid for in the past, but the thing is, not all of us could afford to buy those games in the past. Some of those PS1 games are quite expensive on EBAY (at the moment). So, if Sony were to re-release them for around $39.99, a lot of people who originally missed out, can easily re-add these classics to their collection.

Plus... Legend of Dragoon is not a PS2 game... just saying! No need to get defensive.

Godmars2905830d ago

I'm just saying that has yet to be a JRPG on the PS3 or 360 that has shown the worth of being "Next Gen." They've been good looking PS2 games and that's it.

There just isn't any indication to really get exited for a Dragoon game except that it will be a Dragoon game!

TANUKI5830d ago

Ohhh, I see. Gotcha. Bubble for the response.

Trexman895831d ago

I wouldn't want a remake of shadow of the colossus, because then there's a chance that whoever made the remake would screw up and make a bad game...then the shadow of the colossus name will forever be tarnished. Don't Fix what isn't broken!!!

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle68d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

Why the Wii is Such a Nostalgic System in 2026

The Wii is now a retro console. Let’s get nostalgic about an often maligned system.

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

jznrpg74d ago

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Smellsforfree74d ago

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Loktai74d ago

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

DarXyde75d ago

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

Soy76d ago

And then MK1 killed it again.

DivineHand12575d ago (Edited 75d ago )

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
