Dragon Warrior > Final Fantasy by a landslide. That was the case until Enix America got shut down.
Overall the quality of DQ is higher but some individual FFs are better than individual DQs.
I gotta say I've tried dragon quest a while ago, and it sure was a nice break from the final fantasy style. I like them both :)
Never played either of them. I was going to get the FF BETA though but couldn't be bothered installing it.
The thing I liked most about the Dragon Warrior games is that there was more sense of adventure and exploring. Its the little things in Dragon Warrior games that you dont see any more even in these newer rpg's that have more people and more money tied up in them.
