Whilst we saw a prototype of the 3DS last month, it appears as though that design was pretty much the final version of the console (until the 'Lite' version anyway).
This image basically confirms that in Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon we will be seeing an alternate story. While it has been stated by Nintendo multiple times that this was the case, they were never really clear on it.
Why in fucks name did the designs for the mc make it through the planing stages of development? They are by far the worse thing pokemon have produced.

I don't like it, looks too much like normal DS but with an analog stick and slightly bigger screen. They could have at least gone for a new look but Nintendo has never been good at making good looking consoles/handhelds. The GBA, Gamcecube, etc were butt ugly.
