I'll go back to playing RDR soon because it is a great game, but I got bored of it, especially the multiplayer free roam, so I'm playing Transformers WFC right now.

I played 35 hours of the single player and completed 98%, then lost the will to carry on. It may not float some peoples boat but this game was very good indeed. Not stressful, it was fun, intriguing, had a good story, some twists, graphically looked wonderful, gave you reason to keep going and altogether was worthy of the money spent.

It is each to their own I mean there are a lot of people that love GTA, I didnt I got bored. A Lot love Metal Gear but that is one series that does absolutely nothing for me at all. Strange but true.
Transformers at the moment though, a good game on hard.

I completed it 100% and IMO the game is overrated. There should be train heists and stuff like that. It has alot of cool ideas that have very unispired gameplay. I miss the whole GTA:SA/VC formula.

I actually am enjoying it more than I thought I would.Currently playing this and Borderlands (which has me sucked in)

It served it's purpose. I am done with Red Dead. Once you beat the very good campaign and play online a few weeks it becomes a repetitive mess.

The game really hasnt "grabbed" me either. Sometimes I've just stopped while riding to a mission or place I havent been, look around and see nothing but rocks and plants. Absolutely nothing to do between point A and B

Maybe kill some wild dogs or rescue a trader. But then I'll be travelling for hours, so screw it, I got to go get these missions done

I tried just like the article writer, but I just find the game boring compared to the stack of games I could play instead. So I find no reason to put RDR in rather than something else

I thought it was a really good game. I enjoyed it a lot more than GTA 4. I was totally impressed by the graphics. The realistic look of the landscape and natural environments just blew me away. The gameplay was really fun and enjoyable, and the storyline was solid, very good. I also really liked the wildlife aspect of the game, not too many games get it that near perfect. The fact that it's a Western game also attracted me and you dont get too many of them around. I understand the reasons why it may not be to everyone's taste but I thought Rockstar did a great job on creating a game for one of the least explored genres in gaming.

I was completely and utterly immersed in the universe, more so than GTAIV.

I was hyped to the moon for this game, but it ultimately dropped me flat on my face with it's boring world, cattle rustling and horse breaking mini-games, repetitive missions, easy difficulty, lame ending, and of course the glitches galore that most games would get slammed for.

Don't get me wrong, I still had some fun with it, but I simply feel that it is not even close to being the perfection that so many reviewers and gamers alike are making it out to be. 8.5 tops from me... and that is being generous.

RDR is a great game,but just like you I play for a max of 2 hours and don’t feel the need,the craving of keep on going.I put it on the side and play fifa 2010(ANY SPORT GAME IS GOING TO KEEP YOU HOOK,THE PLEASURE OF BEATING PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD,TEAMING UP WITH 8 OTHER GUYS TO PLAY AGAINST ANOTHER 8,I LOVE IT.).Gta IV such an amazing game,but my experience with it hasn’t been great,I trade it in,then the two add ons came out,got a used copy and got the two add ons,the first one the lost and damn,I didn’t like,the second one was better,but just like the main game didn’t grabbed me.I know of the amazing games all of them are,the graphics,the music,the stories,everything is good,but I am stuck on 2005 when I bought my copy of San Andreas,man I couldn’t stop playing that game,I would be late to work,stay all night up playing it without stopping,ditch my girl to play it.Cj flying planes,making millions of dollars,owning territories,traveling from venturas to San fierro,to los santos.I feel stupid to say it ,but I guess I am addicted to San Andreas and I am stil waiting for that game,for the one to give me all that adventures.I just feel that San Andreas gave me the best time as a gamer so far,but it might just have ruined my gamer life.

i got the 2 games within a week of each other ....I played RDR for a few hours put it away. I played SMG2 like a crack addict for the next 3 weeks. Every waking available hour. I just have felt no motivation now to go back and play RDR.

But it has nothing to really do with the game itself. It's just that as I grow older, there are a lot more things that I care about in life and while playing video games is fun, sometimes I wonder why the hell am I playing such a massive game like RDR? Why the hell do I want to ride a horse back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth between locations to do something? Extra cash? Reputation? Satisfaction of helping a NPC? And all for what?

Again this isn't aimed specifically towards RDR. It's just that I mainly enjoy games that are more linear in nature and doesn't throw at me a dozen different objectives. But everyone is different right?

now a days seem to be under the impression that they MUST enjoy EVERY game released. EVER.

just because Red Dead Redemption is the latest big game from Rockstar doesn't mean you are required to find it AWESOME.

hell, the Gears of War and Halo franchises are certainly top notch games, but i don't find them particularly engaging. i don't feel sussed about it.

i can see how RDR couldn't grab people. it's set in the Western genre, which not many people dig. it follows the GTA mold of game play, which, again, not many people dig.

personally, i think RDR is actually more suited to the GTA mold than GTA games. you don't feel restricted in how you approach scenarios, and the lawlessness of the Old West just melds so much better to Rockstars particular brand of game play design.

i LOVE RDR, and think it's an immersive, highly enjoyable game. but it's not for everybody.

thank god there are still developers out there than understand that not everybody is the same, and not all gamers want the same experience.

on a slightly related/unrelated note, i just received my copy of Alan Wake today, and i'm really enjoying it. it's a shame that a game that doesn't follow the trends of the industry (ie, point and shoot in first person, online MP, etc), hasn't gotten the attention it deserves. the story is intriguing, the game play is solid. *shrugs* i don't know.

i guarantee Crackdown 2 does better than Alan Wake, and that's a REAL pity, because CD2 is such a disappointing sequel, whereas Alan Wake is a fresh, intriguing new IP. since Remedy owns the Alan Wake IP, not Microsoft, i wonder if they'll bring it to the PC and PS3 to try and recoup their losses.

if they really optimized for both platforms, i'd totally snag it for the PS3 also.

Frankly, the game is still more kick-ass than ever.
