Why are people now all of a sudden comparing Xbox Live with PS Plus?? PSN Plus is for now a optional service. See that? "OPTIONAL" as in you don't need it. PS3 owners still get to play online for free and still get the same demos and ad on content the same time Plus members.

Are you both THAT desperate to show your fanboyism? The PS+ JUST started last tuesday. The precious XBL had ABSOLUTLY NOTHING to offer when it was first conceived, just like how the PS+ is now. It needs time to grow, add new features, and take feedback from the consumer, NOT the competitions Holier-than-thou fans opinions.

First of all, There is no such thing as PSN+. It is PlayStation Plus or PS+. This may be nit picky but knowing what shit is called is important because incorrectly identifying something creates incorrect assumptions.

Comparing Live to PS+ is retarded. Why? They are two completely different things. Live is the unified system by which the 360 interface exists. Live is completely integrated into the 360 and the interface is empty without an internet connection. To really get anything out of the 360, you need Live. There is no way around that.

PS+ is an optional service that allows people access to free content and discounts on select things. I don't know why people are getting all butthurt because you don't get to keep the free shit that you get access to. They aren't taking anything away from you that you paid for.

Comparing the two services is silly. They are nothing alike. People need to relax with this stupid bullshit.

I would say that live is the more needed service, if you own an 360. It has more features to offer the 360 than PSN+ and would be more needed by a 360 owner than PSN+ is to a PS3 owner. Without paying the live fee, an XBOX loses alot of its features. However, a PS3 does not as most of these features are already included.
Instead of looking at which is better. You need to really look at what both machines do without. Live is a nessesity for a 360 owner. PSN+ is not. I still find it funny that sites like these even compaire the 2, when they are totally different.

because of course you can compare them- Sony has valued this optional service at the same monetary value as Live. The question at the heart of all this is is it actually worth the same value?

And of course people aren't happy that you loss everything when you unsubscribe, that isn't free it's rental- there's real incorrect identification for you!

Does he use carrier pigeons for his internet service? I don't think I've ever had a game update take more than 10 minutes, most are just a few minutes to download and install. I downloaded, installed and rebooted the last firmware update in 7 minutes, that's typical for me and I don't have a super fast internet connection.

No one ever listens when Sony talks. They said that this is just the beginning. They will add other features as the time goes by. Even if it is true that Xbox Live is better (as if) we have no idea what they will add in the future

Its all simple... XBL gold is more "VALUABLE" since YOU NEED IT to play online. As for PS+ its "OPTIONAL". You dont have a choice if you own an 360 but to buy Gold or else you cant play online. But if you compare the two PS+ is much better since it has MORE benefits than gold. Its the matter of "need(XBL Gold)" and "want(PS+)".

PS+ is for trophy hunters and hardcore gamers and that is a fact. You dont buy a discount card if your not gonna buy anything. PS+ is something that gives back to the people who spend alot of money in PSN and Qore.

360 version is worse because of the hacks people have such as the 4th perk, Thermal vision and such that doesnt exist in the PS version. In the connection there is no comparison since they both perform up to the task.

Personal preference. I prefer live over PSN. I have both consoles, but dislike PSN. Others prefer PSN to Live, thats their choice.

Who cares whether one is free or one is paid for. Most here waste more on junk food per month than the monthly Xbox live fee. People spend their money how they want to.

I think the people that honestly complain about PSN, have never played on it. I am not a fanboy by any means but I have never had any problems with my PSN service. No lags, kick outs, or anything else. I think that when the PSN first came out and people were surprised that Sony was not charging for it, Xbox owners just decided to say that because they pay for their service that it was better, and I have played both and notice no difference in game play. I'm sure Ill get flamed for this but don't really care. . . just giving my two sense. . . PSN is just as solid as Live and with plus you get games, dlc, betas, etc. So I dont understand how people could think that live is still better. I am just wondering, so if anyone could enlighten me, I would honestly greatly appreciate it.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
