Crackdown was released in early 2007 to generally positive reviews. Players had a blast bounding over rooftops, throwing cars off of bridges, blowing up everything they saw in glorious mega-explosions. Now, over three years later, developer Ruffian Games has re-released the popular platformer fo- Wait, this is a sequel? Seriously? Oh. My bad, everyone.
Ruffian has taken the old idiom “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” and turned it into a cautionary tale. As it turns out, even if it isn’t broken, sometimes you should still attempt to fix it. It’s true that when making a sequel, you want to carry over all of the successful elements of the preceding game. But if you don’t significantly add onto that formula, there’s no real point to making a sequel, which is something that Crackdown 2 suffers from.

Darren writes: "“XBOX NEEDS EXCLUSIVES!”. Sound familiar? It’s something that has been ringing in my ears since becoming an Xbox gamer nearly 20 years ago. It’s possibly the longest standing and harshest criticism levelled against Microsoft’s console family, and I can’t say I wholly disagree. However, there are some out there which can slip through the net every now and then. But bucking the trend was the original Crackdown, which was not one of them. It shifted a very healthy amount of units as well as drawing in universal praise from critics. A sequel then, would be a no-brainer."
It was basically crackdown 1 with zombies, was fun but corners were cut, solid game though.
Crackdown 1 was one of the underrated gems of last gen. I loved that game. Crackdown 2 was crackdown 1 with added zombies and gave the map a paint job. Disappointing, but still enjoyed it for what it was with the added wingsuit, toybox mode and 4 player co-op. Crackdown 3 was basically what Crackdown 2 should have been.

While it is unclear at this time whether its a glitch or intentional. Crackdown, and Crackdown 2 are now free for download on the Xbox store.

Crackdown 1 and 2 were both given for free to Xbox One users to celebrate their launch on the Xbox Live Store and backward compatibility support for the Xbox One. In addition to giving the games for free, Microsoft is now also giving the DLC for Crackdown 2.
6/10 is above average, so this is, essentially, a good review. However, it's not anything more than good.
Maybe it would have gone over better if it had been a game of car-tennis rather than... what it was.
hmm maybe i should just get the first one.
The problem is who is gonna pay 60 bucks for a average game when there are so many games scoring above that. I bought both MAG and WKC because i just knew those 2 would be good cant say the same from CD2 which looks like a crappier looking 1 with zombies.
What's funny is MAG has a average score of 76, and Crackdown 2 has an average score of 73. Yet PS3 fanboys are bashing Crackdown 2 left and right, saying how its a flop. Yet you say something about MAG, and its "Oh MAG is a very good game, just have to get used to it". Well guess what I own both games, and they both are awesome fucking games, so stop bashing games based on a fucking review score and play them yourselves.
