This article is bunk. It's void of any logically sound argument as to why the PS3 needs a price cut. Look at the facts. It has been selling consistently well at $300 (compared to the 360, anyway. Pitting it against the Wii wouldn't be fair).

360's hdds are high,the wifi,the flash drives,the memory cards,the online play price,games like odst sold as full retail price games.even the elite is selling for the same price as ps3,but lacks many ps3 features.not only that,but new kinect games will sell for $60 dollars.

Its amazing how MS gets so much credit for adding a feature (wifi) that has been in the Wii and PS3 since day one. How about that sexy piano black finish on the 360? Can't recall ever seeing anything like that on a game console before.

at this point, unless sales are hurting, which they are not, they could make a cheaper ps3 and sell it for the same price to make a larger profit.

microsoft did this with the new 360. its the same price as their last model. you can argue that it has built in wifi but the parts are cheaper to make and they cut costs in the design without the hard drive casing from the older model. less plastic parts, cheaper internals, yet its the same price.

The white PS3 isnt a response to the 360s lol. The ps2 did the same about half way through and took out a white version, also ps3 price is fine, especially with the brilliant exclusives coming.

Are some of you people stupid? Look, PS3 does not need a price cut. It has the best 1st party titles and for that matter the best exclusives. Microsoft is usually paying to bring over most of their exclusives, they have hardly any 1st party studios(some idiots would argue otherwise). One more thing, why do people still persist on supporting an unreliable console(360), with the RROD of older models and the mishaps of the current model that's not to say that Nintendo or Sony consoles have not gone bad at some point, but 360's failure rate is MUCH higher than the others. I loved Sony and Nintendo since the days of old, for the awesome games and of course the system reliability. Can someone please give a good enough answer.

Why in awful articles such as this do they assume everyone is going to 'need' 4 Move controllers? I mean seriously, one or two will be enough for most people. Also correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Natal (yes I'm still calling it Natal because Kinect is a terrible name) only track 2 players so why don't articles assume (wrongly) that people will need 2 for 4 people. Another thing the bundle for $100 is a Move controller, a navigation controller and a game, sports champions or whatever it is. No one will buy the same game 4 times so you can knock quite a bit off the $400 amount for 4 controller systems.

I would be tempted to buy a silver one if ever released. But other then that, I am pretty happy with my current PS3 slim. Works when it receives firmware updates and does not get that hot when I play for 12 hours. At least Sony is finding ways to cut costs and come out with newer models for people that are still thinking about getting a PS3.

I have a 80gb BC PS3 that i'm happy to stay with until the PS3 gets wireless n. That would be alot better upgrade than a bigger HDD. Now a PS3 that runs quieter and cooler is great too but i really need that Wireless N to pull the trigger on this deal. It will happen sometime just to keep up with 360, so i'm willing to wait till that happens. So make it happen this year Sony!

xbox is crap and its made of crap plain and simple. Thats why it breaks people. The ps3 is a solid piece of hardware and its built to last if you follow the maint. section in the user manual. You get a blu ray player. A movie service in true 1080p and tons of pc apps if you read the manual. The thing is like 10 in 1. Sony should not cut the price. Its selling out so they must be doing something right. Im happy to not have to worry about my xbox dying yet again.
