The developers are certainly off to a good start with the mission structure and the idea of using XCOM's headquarters as a mission and research hub. To be honest, though, they have a long way to go before they can pull off a true hybrid of the XCOM of old and the XCOM they have begun to create. Right now, 2K Marin is doing what they do best, which is to create an immersive FPS that tells an intelligent story. Still, one has to wonder if this game could have done as well or perhaps better as a new IP rather than force a reboot that might not settle well with fans of the previous titles.

2K Games has revealed a list of Holiday sales for their games.
2K Games didn't say how many people have been put out of work, but the list includes well-known veterans of Civilization and Marvel's Midnight Suns.
