Gothic 3 was released in 2006 but the community is still active. A recently released fan patch and an ultra config lead to superb graphics. The source shows some screenshots.

We shouldn't expect a sequel to the Gothic series any time soon, Björn Pankratz from Piranha Bytes told us. The studio has been considering a remake of the original games, but currently they don't have the manpower to do it.
Nooo, Gothic 2 might still be my most favourite game of all time. Some publisher should give them the ressources to remake this series with todays standards, it really deserves it.
