M2G Writes:

The listing doesn’t give any further details and neither did Sony India boss, Atindriya Bose, although he did confirm there will be a Ultimate Edition.

Why end it in a ? mark, if indeed, it's not a question. You said confirmed, so there for, it's confirmed right? If you don't trust your sources, then don't make it :p.

Anyway, would be great, I'd buy it. :D

thewrathman5811d ago

i hope to god that that includes a logitech GT steering wheel.or the eiffel tower..which ever is cheaper.

Rainstorm815811d ago

If it comes with the streering wheel im all in, other wise its the regular version for me.

psman0125811d ago

I wanna get it, but it converts out to... 187 US dollars... ouch. I was hoping it would be cheaper. I just cannot afford this special edition. Damn.

Crazyglues5811d ago (Edited 5811d ago )

OMG!!! we have already waited years for the game, please for crying out loud announce the Ultimate Edition already -- I can't take it anymore...

-Are we getting a steering wheel with it or what, because if so I need that one then... -I will cancel my Reg edition and get this...

-Just tell me something already, the wait is seriously starting to kill me..

What's in it already, Why the big secret - if it's not final yet at least tell us what you are considering putting in there already..??? - I need answers..

You have to give gamers enough time to take it all in...

I"m thinking we get

*** The Game in a Special edition Case (Custom collector’s packaging)
*** Plus Steer wheel.. (Logitech Driving Force GT Wheel)
*** Special Blu-ray of the Making of GT5
*** Voucher for five (5) exclusive high-end cars with custom Gran Turismo livery and performance upgrade
*** PS eye for head tracking
*** Special Rubberized DS3 PS3 controller for Racing fans with GT5 written on it (ok this one is just something I would love to have)
*** and two Sliver keys that have GT5 engraved on them (with the # of your Limited Collectors edition -Like #381 and so on) on a key chain

-Ladies and Gentlemen- There you have it A true Ultimate GT5 Collectors Edition (now that, I would buy in a heart beat)

wow that would be great if we get all that in the ultimate edition, but i seriously doubt it (a wheel and the ps eye)?

Omega45811d ago

Wow thats move expensive than a Wii,DS and 360. You could even buy a PS3 for £50 more.

peeps5811d ago

ps3 is £100 more.

Some people will pay this much though. I mean i'm sure a ton will pay £100 for the Halo: Reach legendary edition lol

DelbertGrady5811d ago

Some special editions have crazy pricetags but there must be someone buying them. I only get SE when you ge special unlocks and it's only marginally more expensive than the regular edition. BF BC 2 was one of those.

peeps5811d ago

Special editions are much better when they are actually in limited number and therfore collectors items. If i were to spend £100+ on a SE (i wouldn't because i have better things to spend my money on right now) i doubt i'd open it but instead keep it sealed to 1 day appear on antiques roadshow lmao

Theonik5811d ago

I'm buying it. Guess i'll have to start saving. My personal guess in what the extra content could be? They could have added genuine car parts from the PD racing cars. (Ferrari does that with their F1 cars)

juniordee5811d ago

My guess is they will include Mercedes racing shoes and a cap.

vicheous5811d ago

That woould be cool! Shoes and gloves would be nice better!!

I might get this depending on what the content will be.

matey5811d ago

i only play nintendo but i like sony because they gi far and beyond when it comes to dev costs/budgets to make insane graphics ect mecrosft/nintendo could learn abit from sony in this area i think it will be worth it for car racing fans

Michael-Jackson5811d ago (Edited 5811d ago )

At that price, I guess you get GT5 licensed wheel and pedals, limited edition and some other stuff. Maybe PS eye for head tracking.

wazzim5811d ago

I you are a insane GT fan, you just can't let this pass.
Just like with every other limited edition IMO.

Looks like PlayStation took a hit with Marathon and is now quietly adjusting prices worldwide to recover the losses

andy8536d ago

Lets be honest raising prices doesn't do that when no one's buying it. I imagine the profit it greater selling 10 times more at a lower price

Pergele35d ago

Whatever you say buddy, let's all wear the tinfoil hats.

IceKoldKilla35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

LMFAO Your comment alone says a lot more about you than anything else. When has one game not selling 10 million copies made a company raise the prices of their console? Then Xbox would be costing $5000 by now lol. You remind of the crazy drug addicts on the street rambling on about conspiracies. xD You sure you don't need a hug, buddy?

ChunkyMonk35d ago

One game that Sony payed $200 million for. lol
Also, you sure were quick to get triggered. Maybe your the one who needs a hug?

Eonjay35d ago

If nothing else, we should be united against the real issue here. AI and unnecessary tariffs that are effecting all gamers.

Athlon10136d ago (Edited 36d ago )

The price increases are due to the RAM demand associated with AI and the US-Iran war. You can look to any business news website and local news to see that. Heck, even the 2026 Asus Zenbook Duo I've been eyeing has faced delays and has had a price increase of $400; that laptop has two specs. Asus is doing a staggered release with per-orders for the lower spec now and shipping in May and pre-orders for the higher spec that I'm eyeing starting in June. Basically, all computer manufactures are affected. It'll most likely start affecting smart phones too if it hasn't already. I can't remember the last time any major console maker (Nintendo, Sony, Sega, etc) increased the price of their console mid cycle outside of Microsoft just to make more profit.

S2Killinit35d ago

Its not the war. Its the RAM issue.

jznrpg35d ago

War is causing gas prices to rise. Transport of everything requires gas so the prices of those items go up as well. So it does have an impact

Athlon10135d ago (Edited 35d ago )

The blockage of the Straight of Hormuz due to the US-Iran war has affected raw components used in semi-conductor manufacturing such as bromine, aluminum, and helium. Iran had attacked the liquified natural gas (LNG) plant in Qatar which is a large producer (1/3 globally) of helium which is used in semiconductor etching. So it's the both the war and the RAM crises.

badz14935d ago

Oh no...should I get the Pro now before the price increase?

I dont think that'll ever happen. But i must say back in the day, they were definitely trying because they were more cash rich than their competitors.

CosmicTurtle48d ago

I think MS were and still are the richer company. They tried to acquire Sega back in the day (and considered doing so again more recently), they obviously bought exclusivity to Halo which was originally shown as a Mac title. I don’t think as a company MS can claim the moral high ground here. It’s a wilful lack of self awareness.

Of course Sony would try exactly the same if they had the resources, but when the PS2 dominated the industry was in a much healthier place with an abundance of great third parties.

This has been a depressing generation as far as first party decisions are concerned. The fact we are debating business plans rather than which game is better is a sad reflection of the state of things.

Darkseeker49d ago (Edited 49d ago )

There was Nintendo as well, Sony wouldn't have had a monopoly. In fact, the world would be better today if Xbox never existed in the first place. They pretty much brought all bad practices we have today. We might have gotten all of it either way, but not this early. In term of franchises, I don't think there is anything Microsoft released that would actually be missed if it didn't exist. Even Halo the world wouldn't notice if Halo didn't exist.

S2Killinit48d ago

MS was definitely a bad influence on gaming.

raWfodog49d ago

I think almost everyone will agree that a monopoly is not good for the industry. But that being said, the competition needs to be smart and strategic with their business. Simply buying up publishers and traditional third-party studios just to keep them out of the other companies reach is not a sustainable practice. That goes for all parties so don't think I'm just referring to Xbox.

I'm no business guru by any stretch of the imagination but I firmly believe that the best way to drive consumers to your software and hardware is to invest smart in your first-party studios. Give them full support and guidance in making unique, fun games that are only available to play in your ecosystem and the gamers will come.

Reaper22_49d ago (Edited 49d ago )

But first party studios aren't enough. They only make up a small portion of the industry. Without 3rd party there would be no industry for Microsoft or sony.Developing games take time and money and sometimes you gotta make moves to stay competitive.

raWfodog49d ago

Nah, I never said first-party was enough. I said it’s the ‘best way’ to drive gamers to your platform. 3rd-party is a free-for-all and there’s no guarantee that gamers will use your hardware to play the game. If you want to push your own software and/or hardware you need first-party, or at least exclusive deals with third-party studios.

SimpleDad49d ago

They Shure did a great job... 25 years later Xbox is dead.

Reaper22_49d ago

Then why be so emotional and continue to talk about it. Xbox will never die be ause it stays in so many people's head.

lodossrage49d ago

How can you even see him being "emotional" in that comment?

If anything, you're the emotional one, constantly trying to go at anyone that says anything against Microsoft. So when you call him emotional, it comes off as deflection

Elda48d ago

I own an XBSX & I can say it's becoming irrelevant out of the 3 current consoles.
