I've notices that it's Kotaku that keeps on spreading MGS4 rumors. The MGS4 rumors almost always come from Kotaku. Even OXM has already stopped doing it. Kotaku still refuses to let up.

Kotaku, being anti-Microsoft in most of its articles, just wants to spread such rumors to hype MGS4 and hurt 360 down the road.

See the word franchise? That means the Metal Gear series not MGS4. I think its a possibility that MGS Online may show up on the 360 but NOT MSG4. Makes sense a multiplayer only game wouldn't need all that space that MGS4 would.

If Sony publish MGS4 then it stays on the PS3 unless Sony sell the rights to publish the game to someone else in the case of Half Life 2 for example on PC its Sierra on the Xbox its EA and since its EA they are minting the game and bring it out again but this time on 360 with extra stuff and PS3.

MGS4 from the demo vid I saw on the PS3 there is a LOT of stuff that has gone into the game and well to admit it looks like they made use of the blu-ray space - the ONLY company to have made use of the space I would like to add.

If the 360 was to get any MGS game it wouldn't be nearly as good as the Playstation 3s. Project gotham racing had trouble fitting onto one dvd... how is a game like mgs4???? But I have a really hard time seeing HOW they can get MGS4 to fit onto a even a small span of DVD disks without it severely degrading the game.

I think I'm starting to see a trend here: more and more developers are coming out of the woodwork and admitting that a larger storage medium, such as Blu-Ray, is absolutely necessary for them to push ahead and make the games they truly envision.

Like it or not, DVD-to-Blu-Ray is fast becoming what CD-ROM-to-DVD resulted in a product generation ago: Irrelevant and limiting.

I'm sure that 360 developers will continue to make good games, and maximize DVD-9 to the best of their abilities, but whomever says that DVD-9 is just as adequate as Blu-Ray needs to be pinched. Hard.

Question: Isn't it even remotely possible for MS to utilize their HD-DVD drive as a gaming add-on device via some sort of firmware update? I mean, it's just a storage medium like any other optical drive, no???

The ability to do so would save them from a ton of damaging - perhaps even catastrophic - headaches in the coming years.

MGS4 can not even fit on a DVD9 disc...and if it ever, ever, ever came out of the Xbox 360...it would have to be totally rewritten and a lot of parts would have to be taken out for it to fit on the Xbox 360..

Inconslusion...get a PS3 if you want to play Metal Gear Solid 4.

The fact that he begged for a 50GB Blu-ray disc is proof enough; add the fact that downgrading to the 360 for development of a port would result in compromised graphics & gameplay, and it's pretty obvious that it's not happening. Unless of course Microsoft is cool with Snake controlling Metal Gear Mark II with a Sixaxis.

I think he meant the MGS online or other MGS related games because he said franchise instead of MGS4. IMO it will eventually be badly ported to the 360 but probably by 2009-2010.

I thought they made a pretty big statement during the live demonstation, where snake is holding the PS3 controller and you have to move that little Otacon robot with the sixaxis.

Something is obviously stopping them from taking the game to XBOX 360, or else they would of announced it at the biggest gaming event E3. I still think the game could end up on 360 sorta like MGS2 but not till long after it makes it's splash on PS3.

Otacon had a ps1 on his desk. on pc he had a minnie tower pc on his desk. on mgs1 GC he had a purple game cube on his desk .....I think it would look funny to see snake holding a 360 controller and moving it like a ps3 controller...or even worse him holding a WII controller. :)

My guess is by the end of 2008 it will be going to the ps3, possibly announced at E3 2008.
As for me its a must buy for my PS3, as it would be doubtful that Kojima would be working on the port.

to me, the "going forward" comment implies that any Metal Gear Solid titles *AFTER MGS4 will go multi-platform.

afterall, Kojima will be gone from the series, working on new things, and he's been the biggest proponent in keeping MGS4 exclusive to the PS3.

i think that Metal Gear Online, however, will come to the 360 as well as PS3, but MGS4 will stay on the PS3.

i think Sony will tout this as "the only place to get Hideo Kojima's *FINAL Metal Gear!" even when the franchise goes multi-platform.

I think Konami will still make Metal Gear Solid 5, but will probably call it Metal Gear Acid or something different. They will take a new direction with the franchise and I'm sure that will be multi platform.

Like I said, Kojima doesn't seem to want MGS4 on XBOX 360 right now or they would of accounced it at E3. Among all the speculation, I did think they they made a statement when they showed that part where Snake is holding a PS3 controller. They didn't have to show that part did they? I'm sure there was a lot to the game they didn't show.

When a Konami rep says that there is a chance of bringing the title to other platforms, there obviously is a chance. I highly doubt that Konami would not consider selling this game on Xbox 360 which has a possibility of selling to over 10 million system holders. This is a very expensive game and Konami needs to make back its profits somehow.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

Motorstorm would be epic with the visual upgrade, maybe this game would be a harder sell with the genre being not as popular nowadays..

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too
