Beware the Ides of July(-ish)!!!

i was more shocked with Galaxy 2 selling under a million. i thought Mario equaled a guaranty million first week sales on the Wii. maybe Nintendo should of shipped it with a lame Yoshi controller peripheral.

Alan wake is a disapointment?! GTFO alan wake is a cult classic, rich enviroment great gameplay, great graphics, great story and its disappointing?

I didn't really expect Blur to do that well in the first place. I'm sure it's a fun game, but it just didn't seem like a blockbuster.

Galaxy 2 not selling, now THAT'S a surprise... I don't think it has as much to do with the time of year. Both MGS4 and GTA IV released in summer and late spring, and they did pretty well, right?

They may not necessarily be bad games, they are just games that people don't want to buy. I, for one, have no interest in racing games. Last year, there were 3 really good ones that came out, plus with all this talk of Gran Turismo coming out, I think people just don't need anymore car games right now. I personally don't want any.

As for Lost Planet 2, it got horrible reviews, which I still don't get. I enjoyed it. Definitely not a perfect game, but it's definitely not a 5/10 either. Either way, people don't buy games that review badly because they would rather take a crappy reviewer who doesn't know how to play games' opinion over their own, so they wont actually play it for themselves.

Alan Wake was good, but WAY too short, especially considering how long it took to come out. It could have easily had another 2-3 chapters in it. Also, the gameplay was pretty much the same throughout. There wasn't enough variety and there were very few weapons. I still enjoyed it a lot though.

As for Modnation Racers and UFC, again, these are just games no one ones. "Kiddy" games never sell well on the PS3, and people are getting bored of UFC, plus they don't need to release one every year and milk the IP.

Why is modnation racers even mentioned? The game came out 6 days before the month ended!

Ok so if he's talking simply sales numbers then yea, i guess you could put ModNation Racers in there. But Bs as fas as a good game goes. That game is downright fun. As he states in the article about it pushing the envelope on the kart racing genre it certainly does. If you like mariokart style games and you have a PS3 then you need to buy this game. Its ridiculous fun. Better then Mario Kart imo.

This should be called developers and publishers stupid enough to go up against a rockstar game.

only games that will be ok is mod nation and mario because they will have legs and sell throughout the year.
