Quantic Dream Working on Next-Gen Technology

David Cage has told Eurogamer that Quantic Dream has begun work on the next generation of "technology".

The studio sacrificed Heavy Rain's Chronicles DLC in order to retrofit Move controls to the emotional thriller. But that hasn't prevented work on "risky" and "pioneering" future projects steaming ahead.

"Certainly not!" exclaimed Cage. "Most of the team currently works on the next generation of technology and future concepts. We plan to significantly improve the technology compared to Heavy Rain, continue to take risks and explore new grounds.

""Most of the team currently works on the next generation of technology and future concepts. We plan to significantly improve the technology compared to Heavy Rain, continue to take risks and explore new grounds."

Sounds like he's talking about refining the software code, not working on/ with new hardware.

ballsofsteel5791d ago

what i don't understand is why the heavy rain DLC has to be comprimised. why not just finish up move patch then start working on the DLC?

Forbidden_Darkness5791d ago

I'm sure theres only a few people working on the Move intergration, while the rest of the team is working on future games. They have to think ahead, DLC wont make them as much as a new game.

KingPin5791d ago

Next gen technology still to be used on ps3! therefore we can conclude that the ps3 is future proof! :P

SQWERCH5791d ago

You nailed it on the head man PS3 is future proof, way to go man!!!!! I think should start a site www.n4ad.com (news for adult gamers) and have a vigorous screening so I dont have to read these dumb kiddy comments anymore.

This has been my most anticipated Star Wars game in years. Can't wait to see what they have done.

P_Bomb476d ago

I like the accessibility option in recent games like Dying Light 2 and RE4, where you can simply hold a QTE button instead of spamming like a madman. 😌

got_dam476d ago

I thought this was canceled.

Terry_B475d ago

Nope..they just revealed it way too early, said already at the reveal it will be released in years

Miacosa475d ago

I didn't teakize quantic dream was still around.

CrimsonWing69633d ago

Why is it taking so long for this game to come out?

ChasterMies633d ago

The departure of the lead writer likely means the story is done. The trailer for this game is amazing. Hope it comes out soon.
