Based on the demo, this one could have used more than 8 months in the oven. But that's just my opinion.

SupaGamer5809d ago

Agreed. Graphics look lackluster.

Cold 20005809d ago (Edited 5809d ago )

I played the demo yesterday, the graphics arent anything to wow at but definetly arent lackluster. I guess you're saying that based on the screenshots alone that I have to admit make the game real look bad.

It looks decent, nothing more nothing less.

BTW it's a pity that they weren't able to achieve everything they wanted too because of time constraints. From what the guy is saying they could have made an even bigger game, more polished and stuff if they had more time.

Imperator5809d ago

Not just the graphics, but mostly everything is average or below average. The gameplay is boring and not as good as the first. While the art style is cool, the graphics are most definitely not. Most importantly, it's boring as heck. I'm not even renting it.

AllroundGamer5809d ago

couldn't agree more with you, i have now played the full game for about 5 hours and the first one was definitely better. It's just way too repetitive...

knight6265809d ago

looks like M$ is miss using the AAA term one think i hate they call there games AAA when they arent even AAA

Chuk55809d ago

Microsoft didnt make that tag line for this article.

darx5809d ago

I bet you it's more fun to play than Heavy Rain!

R2D25809d ago (Edited 5809d ago )

That why Crysis is the best FPS on the market

My favourite game of the year so far is Demon's Souls and that hardly has the best graphics around.

Persistantthug5809d ago

I don't think I could even stomach calling this game a AAA quality game.....seriously.

i actually like the style, didnt think i would but after playing the demo ive got to say it looks nice for a cell shaded game.

Chuk55809d ago

That's all I ever hear from CD2 nay-sayers. If graphics aren't eye-poping, the game sucks. I question why I come here sometimes.

Sitris5809d ago

but it is pretty good for an all round industry glance, and allows for some smaller sites that are good to get some recognition!

DelbertGrady5809d ago (Edited 5809d ago )

IGN are abusing the 'AAA' label. It usually means games that have a seemingly unlimited budget (money + time) and that are hyped to hell and back. I don't think Ruffian had any of that while making Crackdown 2. Still, great game, especially if you enjoyed the first.

Unicron5809d ago (Edited 5809d ago )

I have to agree. The term "AAA" has been abused and misused so much lately, it seems like everyone has a different idea of what it means and just tosses it out without thought.

If the game is fun, that's what matters, and Crackdown 1 was cool. Why not give the sequel a chance people? Does it ALWAYS have to be about fanboy wars?

Definitely looking forward to what they will make especially for the next gen consoles.

RaidenBlack2053d ago

More R* Online content.
That's why they bought them.

UltraNova2052d ago (Edited 2052d ago )

Yeah their history points towards being tasked with producing online content.

On an unrelated note, after RDR2 I had my fill with Rockstar's formula (GTA/RDR). I need something new from them. Something fresh especially gameplay -wise.

I would love if R* main did Fantasy or even something space related.

You might be looking forward to things for a long time.

Hakuoro2052d ago (Edited 2052d ago )

After loving every GTA game up till the most recent one I can honestly say I'm over it. I don't care about GTA Online even the slightest and the humor and content in the single player just doesn't appeal to me the way it once did.

At one time just the fact that GTA was a huge open world was a selling point now that's not a big deal anymore, and whats left isn't as good for me as what I can find in so many other open world games.

Well that's a nice unexpected surprise. Hopefully this helps their plans to release more games faster they mention a while ago.

RedDevils2052d ago

More like increasing staff for their GTA V online. I haven't play any Rockstar games since Read dead 2.

Mr_cheese2053d ago (Edited 2053d ago )

Even more employees to work on GTA5 so the game can see out next gen, the gen after that and potentially at a squeeze, the gen after that

SullysCigar2053d ago (Edited 2053d ago )

I'll take it in VR, otherwise don't bother, just get on with GTA6 or a Bully sequel!

VR sounds a little too hopeful, but when you think they implemented first person mode for this gen and they got LA Noire onto PSVR, one can hope. Especially with the extra power afforded by PS5.

sophia42142052d ago

Since I began with my online business, I am raking $42.4 every fifteen minutes. And, as unbelievable it sounds, doable for you is, as well, cause I’ve never had a job as easy as this one. Everyone can do it, with no exception. I suggest you, Don’t pass-up this hot chance, which you can do even in your spare time for some extra bonus bucks to your main source of income, because you might regret it afterwards. Anyway, here’s what you have to do to get started …... https://bit.ly/33IeL2o

UltraNova2052d ago

PSVR 2.0 might be the solution to that problem. We might even see GTA 6 in VR at some point.

sushimama2053d ago

Damn they really need to start releasing new games. I want GTA6 or Bully 2 :-(

Kabaneri2053d ago

Not only did we go a whole gen without a new GTA, they have the audacity to release a full priced Reremaster on PS5/XSX.

purple1012052d ago

The online on free on ps5. Same as cod warzonen is free . But normal game is costing

CrimsonWing692052d ago

check this out PS2 generation got 3 GTA games (GTA 3, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, more if you count the PSP ports).

GTA V got 3 console generations (PS3, PS4, and now PS5).

It goes to show how screwed up game releases are now. We barely get as many "new games" or IPs than we did back in the PS1 - PS3 era. Now, it's all Remasters and like 1/4 of brand new titles and on top of that nothing risk taking like Parasite Eve (just the first example to come to mind).

Looking Back to 2010 with Crackdown 2 - Agent of Mayhem

Darren writes: "“XBOX NEEDS EXCLUSIVES!”. Sound familiar? It’s something that has been ringing in my ears since becoming an Xbox gamer nearly 20 years ago. It’s possibly the longest standing and harshest criticism levelled against Microsoft’s console family, and I can’t say I wholly disagree. However, there are some out there which can slip through the net every now and then. But bucking the trend was the original Crackdown, which was not one of them. It shifted a very healthy amount of units as well as drawing in universal praise from critics. A sequel then, would be a no-brainer."

It was basically crackdown 1 with zombies, was fun but corners were cut, solid game though.

Minute Man 7212148d ago

I'm still playing this, activating the beacons is a pain in the ass

IRetrouk2148d ago

Collecting those orbs and upgrading your character were addictive, it was just a shame they played it safe instead of going all out, didnt take anything away from how fun the game is though.

Crackdown 1 was one of the underrated gems of last gen. I loved that game. Crackdown 2 was crackdown 1 with added zombies and gave the map a paint job. Disappointing, but still enjoyed it for what it was with the added wingsuit, toybox mode and 4 player co-op. Crackdown 3 was basically what Crackdown 2 should have been.
