NBC Becoming More Game Friendly

Move over Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, NBC seems to be readying a new show that focuses on video game culture and those who create video games.

Cool, I'll watch....If I'm not gaming...

...does not make NBC more game friendly. Now after they have that prime time Video Game show come back and holla at me.

RedSky5796d ago

I bet it will be just like every other gaming show, where the producers intervene and put some hip photogenic numbnuts on the screen who don't know a thing about gaming.

Makes me miss Tina Wood and Laura Foy from G4TV.COM. Tina is a 360 fan girl now, so she reports on the xbox only. Haven't seen Laura Aka ThuG in a while.

Next thing you know, CNN and then Fox News.

games on fox news? Bill o'reilly would laugh if he would read this.

gaming really is an ignored segment of entertainment, despite being as profitable as hollywood.

i just want it to be treated respectfully, no "hip" or "edgy" bullshit. i'm tired of every program concerning games looking like it came from the spike tv/maxim school of design.

GrilledCheeseBook5796d ago

it's ignored because the coolest guy in gaming is an old Japanese guy named Miyamoto

gaming doesn't have sexy superstars with sexy lifestyles

I'd be surprised if they drop this in a week day prime time slot, but irregardless it's good to see gaming get the POSITIVE attention it deserves for once on major network.

It's a smart move, nobody else does and we are a very large demographic.

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
