Fable II launched back in 2008 and remains the best the series has offered. Ahead of the series comeback, it's time to look at the classic.
Loved this game, oh and i always saved my dog at the end, hope the new Fable has a animal companion.
Fable 2 was the best inthe series. Peter waaaaaaay over promised with fable 1 and it was good but disappointing. He didn't go crazy eith hype for the second game and it was surprisingly awesome. Then he ran his mouth promoting 3 and it was the worst of the 3.
I only got to play it once 😩 I'm so tempted to buy a Xbox 360 slim but planning on getting the series x soon since I got a PS5 in February Im ready to get saints row 1&2 back, GTA 4, fable 2, but I also want to play infamous 1&2 again Sony screwed us over with the stream only for saints row 2 and other gems smh
The fact that your character would change as you leveled up. I feel like Molyneux is in the same situation as George Lucas: he's surrounded by people who are completely unwilling to let him know when he has a stupid idea.
Customizing your character is a BIG part of RPGs. Molyneux is right in that respect. This idea of leveling up changing what your character looks like and what your equipment looks like, too, is a good idea. What's a BAD idea is making it all automatic. The player should be able to CHOOSE what he or she looks like. To CHOOSE what his or her weapons look like.
In Fable II, no matter how much time you spent into making your character look cool, by the end of the game you were FORCED to play as a muscle-bound brute with glowing tattoos. That's not cool at all. When you make a game that forcibly alters the aesthetics of the player character, you're negating the very thing that makes games where you create your own character so appealing. It's ass-backwards, is what it is.
Thankfully, Fable III is also getting a PC release. With luck, we'll get some mods to correct some of these inane design choices.
