Dead 'Courier' walking: Microsoft gets dual-screen design patent

As of today, MS has been granted a design patent regarding a dual displace device which looks similar to the now dead Courier project. Interestingly, the patent was filed by Scott Wilson and Stephen Christopher who actually list 'multiple confidential programs' for Xbox and MS amongst their current projects. Moreover, Wilson also reportedly worked on the new Xbox 360 slim too. Whatever MS do, it seems highly likely that they will take an 'iPad' like approach and try to mix everything together.

I don't really get all these patant stuff.

This might be targeting the iPad...

A dual screen thin iPad sized foldable virtual notepad would be so awesome if it was done right.

This better have dual analogue. Nvm, article is back. Just refresh if it's missing.

Just looked at the pictures, this may not be for gaming after all.

Oh, never mind..

beardpapa5813d ago

a dual pad may solve quite a few problems, like including a keyboard on the second screen. Why not just get a laptop with touch capabilities?

D4RkNIKON5813d ago

This doesn't look like it is for gaming, more like Microsoft's answer to the iPad. Gaming doesn't work well without buttons on the idevices. Some games do work well but not all that's for sure.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
