but no one is going to buy it, just the fanboys. Which i dont have a problem with, if i were a sony fanboy i would want one too. but to the consumers it will just seem as if they are ripping off nintendo and even if the tech is better it wont sell.. look at the ps3.

DUDE STFU. Nintendo fanboys are saying that because Sony made a upgraded wii remote. And sony was doing motion controls and displayed it in 2001. So Obviously Sony been working on motion controls for a while. The only thing I could say is nintendo probably influenced sony to start doing motion controls again.

I can tell you're a Nintendo fanboy because your username is a horribly-misspelled homage to Yoshi, a Nintendo character. Kinda bad that you ride Nintendo's ballsack so hard and can't even spell their character's names right.

How would Sony even be copying Nintendo? Sony were the first to even have ideas of 3D gaming when it comes to consoles. Just because Nintendo comes out with a 3D handheld first doesn't mean Sony is copying off them.

And like Colonel said, Sony was experimenting with motion controls since the early 2000s, so the whole "ZomG Move is teh copyin Wii >_<" crap is null.

Ways I see it, much like the Wii-vs-Move plan, Nintendo will do it first, but sony will do it better later, once theyve witnessed the pros and cons of 3d/touchscreen etc

Anything Sony makes is first announced and given a loose, but official launch window. Then it's delayed by about 6 months. So, there's no way it's coming out this year.

I could see a big surprise announcement of a PSP2 at TGS this year, Sony may have been waiting to see the 3DS before revealing its own new handheld...longshot but who knows

Usually I wait until after E3 to upgrade. But hopefully a new PSP - X000 comes out during TGS. If not, well, Warranty Upgrade.

And NO there is NOT going to be a PSP2. Stop begging. Its not happening this year and probably not next year either.

the article is talking about a PSP4000, 1000 to 3000 have been able to play original PSP games, why would you think this one wouldn't?

How will Sony be copying 3D if Sony is one of the driving forces behind 3D? Toshiba, Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG etc have already moved to 3D earlier this year and even their hand-held devices will be moving towards 3D.

Saying Sony is copying Nintendo in the 3D department sounds stupid because all of these major hardware companies have been working on the technology for 6+ years.

Oh By the way Nintendo never made their own 3D technology, they bought their 3DS screens from 'Sharp' who themselves are still working on glassless 3D technology. Hitachi on the other hand have made a glassless 3D screen that already outperforms the 3DS, that means the 3DS's screen will be out performed by other glassless 3D screens by the time it launches.

Nintendo take existing tech and then claim that they invented it.

EDIT: I would just like to say that I'm not for all this 3D bs because all of these company's should be working on holograms and not 3D from a 2D image.

the ds is an incredibly strong brand
they were able to let the Xbox get a headstart because it isn't nearly as strong of a brand but if they want to beat nintendo in the handheld market they can'tgive them that large of a headstart

You're talking about the strongest selling handheld devices. Nintendo doesn't need no head start. The games will sell the system.

IMO I don't think most of the PSP core gamers would of bought a nintendo handheld so we can see that if sony wants a larger piece of the pie, they will need to broaden their scope to attract new users. Most of the psp games aren't made for casuals and with the impending Goliath as the DS is we can only wait and see what the the development of AAA games as a boat load of casual games will look like on the system.

Honestly I'm looking forward to sony's NEW PSP aka PSP2 and what it can do, not interested in an other update. But right now they'll need to add the kitchen sink to kill some of the 3DS's momentum.

- Fatal Frame (using an integrated camera, how cool/creepy is that)
- Uncharted (with tons of multiplayer modes)
- Killzone
- Final Fantasy 6 remake
- Zone of the Enders
- Grand Theft Auto (Tokyo setting)
- downloadable PS2 games!

Nintendo ports? Like what? Square Enix develops exclusives for both Nintendo and Sony (ie. FF3,4 on DS, Crystal Chronicles on Wii, Dissidia on PSP)

The only Nintendo ports I know of are from older titles (FF Anthology, Chronicles, Origin, Anniversary Ed....)

And yeah, I can see Square doing ports of FF5, 6, and maybe 7 on 3DS, but that would disappoint a lot of fans. People expect to see at least FF7 done on an HD console (after seeing the PS3 tech demo)

if we see a PSP 4000 this year im betting it will be a PSPhone, PSP2 will probably come 2011-2012

im just hoping the interface is going to use the android OS but modified for the PSP, honestly, this would be such a good move for sony i cant emphasize this enough

I think a PSP4000 would be cool. I would like to see it being like the PSPGo but with having a UMD drive. I really like how the Go has a harddrive & I would like that for gaming.

I dont think it is actually possible to have something as sleek as PSPGo with an umd drive.

In fact I think the umd issue is a big one for the PSP2. If it comes with UMD is like to get stuck with an slow, bulky and power hungry tech, if it doesnt it would mean no BC for PSP2.

Pretty sure Sony want to get rid of UMD, but retailers and users with big umd collections are a roadblock.
