Cnet: Xbox 360 Slim Review

Cnet: Microsoft kick-started the "next-generation" of gaming on November 22, 2005, when the company released the Xbox 360, beating both Nintendo and Sony to market. Since then, the console has sold roughly 40 million units worldwide and has brought some innovative ideas to the gaming industry in the form of Xbox Live, the online marketplace, and gamer achievements.

I was expecting a perfect score form Cnet.

ElementX5820d ago (Edited 5820d ago )

Yeah, because you all think that CNet being tied to MS through ownership of various divisions and such would only give MS products perfect reviews. How mature. Just because they have the same parent companies through various acquisitions doesn't mean their reviews are bought and paid for. Pathetic Sony fanboy view.

Elven65820d ago

In the US you can't buy or pay for reviews anymore and not have it be disclosed to the public, the FTC will investigate such complaints.

http://www.usatoday.com/tec...

Also, Microsoft doesn't have a parent company.

ElementX5820d ago

Fine. People say that CNet is owned through the parent company Microsoft that they all bow down and suck MS c0ck and give all their products perfect reviews. That isn't true!

TotalPS3Fanboy5820d ago (Edited 5820d ago )

"In the US you can't buy or pay for reviews anymore and not have it be disclosed to the public, the FTC will investigate such complaints."

However, it's perfectly legal to give reviewers free stuffs, with a wink wink.

deadreckoning6665820d ago (Edited 5820d ago )

@ElementX- According to 80% of N4G, the ENTIRE world media is against the PS3(which automatically makes them pro-360) lol. Its better to mock these fanboys than attempt to reason with them. Their inferiority complex makes them lash out at anyone who thinks the PS3 is less than perfect and vigorously defend a gaming console as if it was a living breathing person.

@TotalPS3Fanboy- Its a shame u never had the opportunity to complete elementary school. If u had basic reading comprehension, you would understand that my comment is directed towards PS3 fanboys(not fans).
And I was obviously being hyperbolic with the "whole world is anti-PS3" statement to simply get my point across. Would u like me to explain what a hyperbole is?

TotalPS3Fanboy5820d ago (Edited 5820d ago )

According to his post, deadreckoning666 thinks 80% N4G thinks the world is anti-PS3. However, PS3 gamers are merely calling out bs on PS3 when bs needed to be called out.

The truth is out there. ...and in Edge magazine.

Deadrekconing686's elementary school view of the world is that, to make himself feel superior, he must makes fun of PS3 fanboys who are just trying to defend their beloved console of choice against bs claims.

"Would u like me to explain what a hyperbole is?"
Yes, please, do so. And after you edumacate me, you can go and edumacate all those other savage PS3 fanboys, and burn anyone else who refuse to be edumacated.

Method5820d ago

They did fail to mention the horrible disc drives however

el zorro5820d ago

What horrible disc drives? The disc drive works wonderfully. If yours is having problems you should get it replaced.

Snakefist305820d ago (Edited 5820d ago )

The xbox 360 slim dissapoints me in a few areas:

DVD disc stray no DVD slot= disc tray jamming, disc game scratching, long loading times. All of which could of been eradicated with the DVD slot.

Why is it $300.00 it should be at least $250 or $200.00. Is DVD not blu-ray is old and the older the technology the less it should cost. DVD is old technology, HDMI 1.2 is old technology USB ports are old technology. It should not cost that high in the first place.

EDIT:@ElementX They Removed It To Make It Cheaper.BTW Sony Trying To Put 2 or 3 Usb port on the Newer Models.

ElementX5820d ago (Edited 5820d ago )

Long load times have nothing to do with a slot or tray drive.

Internal power supply would end RROD? How so? You have all that extra heat from transformers... doesn't make sense. BTW I know PS3 has an internal power source, but this article is discussing 360.

*EDIT*
@ Snake, nice stealth edit. You mentioned power brick but erased it from your post. Very suave.

Also, you say UBS is old tech and cheap, so why did Sony remove some from the slim console?

Arnon5820d ago (Edited 5820d ago )

Lol the guy has no idea what he's talking about. It doesn't help that he agreed with himself either.

A disc tray does not affect loading times. Also, if the tray is ever jammed, the 360 has a failsafe on the top of the console near the tray itself, where you can insert an unrolled paperclip inside of it and pop it out. This is not physically possible if a slot drive were installed. So while a slot drive is a more practical solution, anything that would cause it to fail would force the user to either send it in, or open the console themselves and fix it.

Also no. Sony has had no mention of adding "2 or 3 Usb port on Newer Models."

Fanb0y5820d ago

It is 'at least $250 or $200.00'.

palaeomerus5820d ago

Personally I wish the PS3 and 360 and Wii had a cheesy TOP-LOADER instead of a tray or slot loader. That way I can easily get my game out out when something goes wrong.

Deios5820d ago

Topic should read:
"Cnet: Xbox 360 Medium Review"
Because is for sure not a slim. Now the new PS3, that's a slim.

TotalPS3Fanboy5820d ago

To be able to call it a medium requires that it can actually communicate with ghosts. Or dead 360s. And it in no way, can do that.

Deios5820d ago

Ok, Xbox 360 Diet Review, lol.

Seece5820d ago

The 360 S is about the same size as a PS3 slim ... so no not really.

phinch5819d ago

The cut down size of the phat to the smaller ps3 was significantly more than what Microsoft had done with the xbox

el zorro5820d ago

Give me a break. The new PS3s are slim in one direction and wide and fat in the other.

In other words the the 360s is smaller in one dimension and the PS3 is flatter in another.

You can see what I am talking about in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Gene5820d ago (Edited 5820d ago )

Can you mod this 360?
I just asked a question and got a disagree lmao.

mushroomwig5820d ago

Of course, there are already mods for this version.

CYCLEGAMER5819d ago

That's what happens when you mention xbox 360 on this site...its sad!

bjornbear5819d ago

i think its because he mentioned modding

people on this site generally are very against modding and hacking.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

DarXyde41d ago

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

Soy41d ago

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
