Very nice. SS looks much better

knightdarkbox5819d ago (Edited 5819d ago )

wow nintendo milking much in this game?

That console ( Wii) is just sad, i wonder if Wii only owners knew what they were missing, they are stuck in last generation.

So Nintendo purposely is not satisfying it's core audience that has kept them afloat for over 20 yrs milking in this game ( and tons of franchises like , mario, donkey kong...).....FINE NINTENDO!

akashifire5819d ago (Edited 5819d ago )

Infamous - 2009 / Infamous 2 - 2011
Killzone 2 - 2009 / Killzone 3 - 2011
LittleBigPlanet - 2008 / LittleBigPlanet 2 - 2010
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - 2007 / Uncharted 2 - 2009

Let's not even talk about Activision with their endless myriad of COD and music games.

Everyone milks.

Legosz5819d ago

Wow, 2 infamous games, 3 killzones.

And... Oh yes, over 200 mario games!

I wonder who milks more, nintendo or sony?

seij5555819d ago

At least Sony gets new IPs every generation.

akashifire5819d ago (Edited 5819d ago )

Everything successful will be milked in one way or another. Nintendo just happens to be really successful with what they release; hence, they "milk" their franchises.

It's business. Sony and Microsoft know it as well. :)

@seij555: Nintendo is also releasing a new IP every generation. Don't ignore the games they develop/publish that may not be under your radar.

Are you serious?

Edit: Below me (Menech), are you f_cking serious?

Edit again: Why so small screenshots? and why Twilight Princess image's quality so low?

Edit: despair, I was asking PhilipLarkin about this line "SS looks much better", not knightdarkbox. As for knightdarkbox, I do agree with him.

despair5819d ago

he's not completely wrong, Nintendo has made millions of dollars on nostalgia, creating new games with old faces and not caring to bring new ideas and IPs to the table.

If Mario Galaxy or Zelda SS were games without Mario or Zelda(Link) involved or in the name would they get the same praise and recognition as they do now? Its doubtful, just watch Darksiders which got blasted for copying Zelda when Zelda copies itself every installment and gets praises for it.

Nintendo are very smart to know their audience, as long as people are willing to shell out $50 to play on nostalgia then Nintendo will keep bringing out Zelda, Mario and Metroid games in bulk. Now we have to add Donkey Kong(exactly like the snes version), Pokemon and with Kid Icarus making a comeback its gonna get a ton of sequels and prequels and spin offs once it sells.

ChickeyCantor5819d ago

I dont see the problem, These games are good.
Really what is the problem? Sure its a bit of nostalgia, but nothing can beat the nostalgia of how you remember the games, so the only thing that remains is to say that these games are actually good.

If its pure nostalgia then it would only leave a bad taste since it wont be as you remember it in the past.

And if they made the games with different characters yet same style of gameplay they would get the same praise as its made by the same guy.

If these games were crap they wouldn't be making them.
Its not just the fans buying these games, also new comers.

And you pretend these games never did something different internally.

Menech5819d ago

Its graphics are way better then KillZone 3 IMO.

waterboy5819d ago

is the best looking game period

Report the troll^ his last 10 comments are just about how crappy he thinks everything PS3 related is.

eagle215819d ago (Edited 5819d ago )

The Wii, DS, and soon 3DS are great systems with really awesome games....

Nintendo won E3 hands down.

Can't wait for Zelda: Syward Sword!!!! Go to youtube and watch demo's and read all the positive impressions. I have seen surveys on game sites with over 1,000 votes saying 80% of those votes love the new art for SS. ;) in fact, there is a survey when you click the link, it says 77% like the art versus just 23%. Majority wins.

Mods won't ban 360 trolls.
But if a PS3 fan says "RROD" he'll get flagged for trolling. xD

Skyward Sword will be amazing!

Valay5819d ago

At first I wasn't sure what to make about the art style, but I've gotten used to it.

ElementX5819d ago (Edited 5819d ago )

Looks good

Xi5819d ago

I prefer both windwaker and TP over SS.

Unicron5819d ago (Edited 5819d ago )

Me too. I wanted an "adult" LoZ for so long back in the day that I hated WW when I first saw it... until I played it. Now I really miss that wonderful style! It was so beautiful.

Still, it's Zelda, it will be great regardless. (And I urge everyone to check out Darksiders, also a really fun Zelda style game).

Xi5819d ago (Edited 5819d ago )

I tried it out on the dolphin emulator in 720p and the game looks just stunning.

http://public.blu.livefiles...

I understand what they're trying to do with SS, but for some reason I just find it... bland, like it has an identity crysis. That's not to say everything is bad. I like a lot of thier textures, and I think it's smart to dial back some detail (grass for example). But I swear, those trees are from 1991, and there's just too much colour saturation for me.

ChickeyCantor5819d ago

The visuals were changed at the last moment, thats why its delayed until 2011.

The level design was kinda crap in the demo. But i have no doubts they will make one awesome game.

Why the Wii is Such a Nostalgic System in 2026

The Wii is now a retro console. Let’s get nostalgic about an often maligned system.

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

jznrpg38d ago

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Smellsforfree38d ago

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Loktai38d ago

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (1996) Still Feels Like Peak 90s Star Wars

This game along with Rogue Squadron got me into to Star Wars. The release of special edition VHS Star Wars collection was perfectly times on top of all that. 😆

Redgrave68d ago

Because it is.

Please re-release this.

SimpleSlave68d ago (Edited 68d ago )

But it wasn't. Although I do agree that some of the tie-in media, like the novels and comics, were pretty good.

Still, games like Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Rogue Squadron, and the space sims were peak 90s Star Wars. Shadows fell flat because of the abysmal controls and unimaginative levels. And if you wanted to really experience the seedy side of the universe, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 was peak, and it wasn't even close.

Regardless, and much to my dismay, we got the better version thanks to Ubislop in Outlaws, which is what Shadows should've been, albeit at a smaller scale.

As a kid me and my cousins loved this game . I have great memories with this one and the Star Wars pod racer game .
